Ripple = narrowly distributed manipulated and colluded dirt. It can now NEVER be trustless - you can not transition through a period of trust at any stage of the journey to become trustless.

They have locked down 55 billion XRPs in escrows. Only 1 billion gets released each month. To be used on growth of the Network. Not to sell for their own gain.
That removes any possibility of shorting the system by selling all the XRPs.
The nodes are scattered across the globe. Nobody owns the majority. It can live on if Ripple goes bankrupt in the future. Thats the very definition of decentralized.
Bitcoin however can be wrecked by a 51% attack. 5 biggest mining pools can do a majority attack.
So much for Bitcoin safety...

Bitcoin is forking all over the place. If anything is dirt, well that is Bitcoin.
