I also remember many of you were part of this scam exchange promotion. And many of you that claim to be ethical and always do due diligence you were promoting this scam.
Were they known to be a scam from the get-go?  I vaguely remember some hubbub about Livecoin a while back, but since I had never used them I never really paid attention to the details.

I'd lump them in with the likes of YoBit. There have been consistent complaints about long term disabled wallets, which is effectively theft. There have also been plenty of complaints about withdrawal issues, nonexistent customer support, unjustified account banning, etc.

Like YoBit though, plenty of people swore by them for years, having never experienced any issues themselves. Until now, that is. Sad

you could have written that in one of the many threads in which the discussion about Livecoin and his latest update.
I don't know, I think he's justified in bumping his own thread, especially given what's going on with Livecoin at the moment.  The only reason I got interested in Livecoin recently was because they were one of two available exchanges listing Curecoin, and I posted in another thread about my lucky experience with the exchange.  I'm not convinced they were a scam exchange from the start, but on the other hand it sounds like they were shady at the very least (as evidenced by the OP of this thread).

I also remember many of you were part of this scam exchange promotion. And many of you that claim to be ethical and always do due diligence you were promoting this scam.

Looks like you're on point about them, OP.  As I've said before I seriously doubt they're being extorted by hackers.  The more plausible explanation is just what you said: they're exit scamming.

Probably the haven of scamcoins and ponzi schemes. The only exchange that kept offering bitconnect trading for months after the ponzi collapsed.
Holds a vast amount of shit/scam coins, only traded on their exchange. (OTN, DIG, GOAL and around 200 more useless scamcoins).

I sense an exit-scam soon after they trap a few newbies with their latest promotion. They will probably say they got hacked and they lost all funds. Same recipe as cryptopia probably, another home of scamcoins.

Came back just because I remembered I posted this last year.

I also remember many of you were part of this scam exchange promotion. And many of you that claim to be ethical and always do due diligence you were promoting this scam.
I just hope that my warning as well as everyone else that made a post about this scam have at least helped a few people not to lose their money.
Peace out.

We still do not know is it real hack here or it's just another exit scam case.

I don't think it will happen since their signature campaign still active from here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cfnp-livecoin-signature-campaign-herolegendary-members-up-to-002btcweek-5124985

Livecoin is exchange it's a business they are accepting to list any coins or token to trade on livecoin. Since they are business they are making a profit by listing coins scam or not they're accepting it with fees to list any coin. So I don't think if they have a plan to follow what cryptopia did before.

Since they have signature campaign actively running here on the forum for me they are still safe to use just make sure that you are not trading with shitcoin and trade only with well-known coins.
I think having a signature campaign on  the forum should not be an assurance that they are safe and will stay. Anything can happen. Look what happened to bitblender, they shut down in the very last moment even when the signature campaign was still very active.

i know business is business but also the quality of business matter. Getting money from so many shitcoins in order to be listed does not help in the long run. Traders will keep off the exchange since they won't trust it and before we realise it will collapse.

Sure Livecoin has a lot of shitty scamcoins but I don’t think it’s an exit-scam

While any project/exchange should do due diligence on their project, this is not the place to discuss it.

If you want to open a scam accusation or an investigation you should do that in the subforum dedicated to such things.

I don't think Livecoin is suppose to blame for the shit coins that sits on the exchange. They depend on the coin development team weather they need to delist the coins since the trading might fall low; but if such information is not obtain from the team, the exchange will keep showing feeds from the coin market demand and supply.
