Wow, I have seen, read and heard different surprising news this year. When the market begun to fall, i thought we were in deep trouble but it seems everything is even getting better. Great partnerships with great companies are always te news we have been hearing recently even though the bad ones also come. This is good for all of us.

A new partnership will see Liverpool City Council use blockchain technology to become the world’s first climate positive city by the end of 2020.

The Liverpool City Council of the United Kingdom has announced its collaboration with the Poseidon Foundation (XLM, Stellar), a non-profit carbon credits and blockchain NGO, built on the Stellar Network.

By using Stellar’s network, Poseidon can offer an immutable purchase, transaction, and settlement of carbon credits almost immediately, all at a low cost.

In addition, the Stellar network only produces 0.0000015kg of CO2 per transaction, compared to 21.08kg for Ethereum and 310.75kg for Bitcoin, which adds the ecological credentials of Poseidon.

City of Liverpool adopts blockchain, aims to be climate-positive. The Poseidon foundation will be moving its operations to the city in order to play a key role in their climate strategy, with a 12-month trial.
