I've seen videos of people living in a van, it's good if you are working at home and have a flexible time you just need wifi to do your work but will not work if you are an 8 to 5 person, it's fun living in a van you can go to different places and even to go to the province, you can do video blogging by visiting various places, that's the fun of it.

Nowadays with the development of the world the existence of vans is almost lost van was very expensive for the poor and nomadic people, they could find a way to earn a living but now with the advancement of technology there is a difference between them. People are using cars to travel buying a home without buying a van will help increase prices in the future.

First of all, the whole freedom thing is nice and all, but think of the price difference in getting a house vs. getting a van...

You are missing the point, it is much cheaper to buy a van than a house, but the money you spend on a van is money you throw away, while the money you spend on a house is money that increases to net worth. Unless you buy in a very bad location, in 99% of the cases or more, the price of the house you buy is going to go up in the long run.

Get a membershoip at LA Fitness, and shower there any time you want... countrywide. But many other fitness places have showers.

It became trendy with the videos that I've watched. If it's ideal for the others, doesn't mean that it's also ideal for the rest.

Just pleasant to see people living with that style are doing it happily. But to me, I'll just do this as a hobby and will still live on the usual house for safety.

In this conversation, deep thoughts went about housing, I think so. As for me, the trailer is not the best place to live. Moreover, favorable conditions of mortgages for housing are now available, and housing is not very expensive. I'm talking about London, because I live here. See for yourself https://1newhomes.com/new-homes/property-1-bedroom/  Prices start from  219 995 pound sterling. It seems to me that this is not much more expensive than a trailer. But the choice is yours. I bought my house and have no regrets
If you own the van or trailer then its completely free, so comparing the rent is irrelevant though.

Living in a van not possible for everyone and even I saw people who live in the small Caravan and travel to lot of places everyday which gives thrill not the convenience.

That is actually a great way of wording it. It comes down to what you actually value more than the other. Thrill vs. Convenience! Thank you for your input! Smiley

I could probably have done it when I was younger or something, travel through Europe maybe but I’m older now & I wouldn’t be interested to live in a van now Cheesy

I feel that way too, too many luxuries will be missed! For example, I need more than one stove when cooking. I would like to also poop in privacy, shower everyday and so much more haha

I think van life should be for those who understand the importance living nomadic lifestyle or those who are natural nomads.
I have actually thought about the price difference but decided that it much better to find cheap/free lands in remote areas to build homes with your community while enjoying the van life. You can build homes in multiple places and establish thriving communities/businesses there while still enjoying your nomadic lifestyle.

It will be much easier with you if your wife understands that you aren't living that lifestyle due to financial problems. She needs to feel secure with you.

You're absolutely correct and you present a lot of good points. I would not do it because of financial issues though, if you checked out her van, it looks amazing! It just looks like a very attractive option. She does say though that there are things that she misses about living in a home.

for instance, going for number 2, or showering without having to worry about your 7 gallon jug finishing... I personally would like to have a home and have the ability to travel around the country in a van that is also a suitable living space. Kind of like an RV but less 18-wheeler haha

It just looks like it's a gateway to an amazing lifestyle, especially considering that a lot of people are already working from home, meaning that there is no need to go to an office. In fact, she has her own office area in her van which is just insane. The number of features she was able to squeeze into her van amazes me

Lately I've been checking out houses to buy. However, I cam across a tiktok user who lives in a van (her @ is divineontheroad).

It intrigued me!

First of all, the whole freedom thing is nice and all, but think of the price difference in getting a house vs. getting a van...

Sure it has to be equipped to the max which cannot be cheap, but she's doing it and making it look so much fun! Let's set aside the fact that I have a wife and she would kill me if I mentioned this to her, would you guys do it? Living in a van.

I would suggest you look at her posts to get a better understanding. It just baffles me!  Huh
