If you want it dirt cheap and really quiet you can also get something near the Chernobyl Death Zone. But even there is tourism, sort of.

That's only 60 miles from where I grew up. Watch out for radioactive wolves!  Grin

(No, but seriously, you really have to be careful and watch out for those)

Eastern Europe is very cheap still.

So is Spain & Portugal. Problem is things get more and more unstable.

Try Sahara. Plenty of cheap real-estate there.

The beach is nice, but the water is far...

Minimalism is a tool that can assist you in finding freedom. Freedom from fear. Freedom from worry. Freedom from overwhelm. Freedom from guilt. Freedom from depression. Freedom from the trappings of the consumer culture we’ve built our lives around. Real freedom.

Tiny home living is one of my passions I continue to explore. It works well with the the barn wood reclamation I do as a living.

I suggest to look into building a "tiny house".  There are lots of websites with info.  If you make it 12' wide, it can be moved fairly easily if necessary.

I assume you'll want power and wi-fi, correct?

I'm guessing not if he wants to live "like Ted Kaczynski did".

I get sick of being in a city and want to save up enough money to buy some land and build a structure to live in for the remainder of my life.  Much like Ted Ka-czynski did.  Any suggestions on the cheapest place to live and other tips on doing so?

As far as for the structure, that's the easy part.

You can eat squirrel, rabbit, deer, turkey, fish, etc.
