By the way...here is an example of a paper wallet on a postage stamp I made in 2017 loaded with 0.02BTC!

To the left is the public key QR code and to the right is the private key QR code.

You can actually try and sweep the btc, if you can figure out the BIP38 encrypted password! Wink Goodluck!

And below is an actual paper wallet also loaded with Bitcoin. Feel free to sweep if you can  Wink Its been online for 2 years and btc still on it  Cheesy

Thanks for the answer. I'll give it a go.

I was looking through physical cryptocurrencies after "loading bitcoin" had no results from a search.

If you don't mind, I thought of another question.

Can I put them on and take them out more than once?

If so, seems a simple and cheap way to store bitcoins.

If I were you I would first create a test paper wallet and load with a minute amount of say 0.001btc.

Test it and makes sure you understand how it works. Do on an air gapped computer! NOT on the internet!

In other words load it and then sweep. Sweep all the BTC in one go.

Also if you ever load with a larger amount and then the time comes you want to take out...make sure to sweep ALL the BTC in one shot.

Do not do increments as the rest of the BTC will be lost. SO ALL OF IT.

And never use the paper wallet again, since your private key has been exposed to the hot wallet. Create a new one each time. Goodluck!

Here are some articles I wrote on the paper wallets, loading them and testing. http://www.cryptocoinscollection.com/index2.html#p=216

I used three different programs to make sure the paper wallet I created was good. I also BIP32 encrypted with a password, just in case the private keys were exposed. Wink

Yes but you will pay a tx fee each time, so its not a great idea for in and out movements, but rather longer cold storage IMO Smiley

Using your hot wallet, click on send BTC - type in public key on your paper wallet or aim camera at bar code. (You’re  in the wrong section btw, though I’m sure this will be moved by admin (you can move this too, at bottom of page where it says “move topic”) this would  go under “beginners and help“ board). But you had a lengthy search and ended up here aye?

Hello everyone. I have a paper wallet and want to know how to load some (small amount) bitcoins onto it. Only about $10 worth but after a lengthy search I can't figure out how to do it.

I'm familiar with sending and receiving on my phone and computer.

If anyone can explain this method please let me go.

Regards,
TS
