Welcome

Loafwallet is a great little iPhone/iPad app which allows you to own and spend the digital currency Litecoin. Spending Litecoin is now easier than ever. It's as simple as sending and receiving money at the touch of a button. No matter where you are, what time it is: you can still pay for those everyday items you know to love.

A lot of safeguards have been put into place to protect your money. Based on BIP38 technology, even if you have lost your mobile phone - not all is lost. A 'recovery key' can be used to get back all of your money, to the tiniest single penny.

In fact, this a completely functioning version of whatever you'd expect on a computer... except in a smaller package. There isn't any hidden servers to backup or store your money - this very app could be thought of as the most secure way to safeguard your Litecoin. Thanks to Apple's impenetrable sandbox (security) system, it is incredibly hard to even attempt to steal your money. Hackers have no choice but to lose this war!

Now, here comes the slightly geeky part - don't worry if you don't understand this.

Technical Details

This application makes use of the following BIPs which have been integrated into Litecoin Core and this app:-

  • BIP37 - mobile SPV, block sync without entire blockchain.
  • BIP38 - Recovery Key
  • BIP70 - PaymentProtocol small data sent.

It is recommended that jailbroken devices do not use this application, as malicious app may self sign themselves to identify as this app - and gain access to the keychain, allowing open access to your wallet data. Based on BreadWallet by Aaron Vosine. When the app has been put up on the App Store, it will be made open source and will have the MIT License attached to it.

Current Status

Building Core architecture - one small bug left. This means to actually make the app work with Litecoin.
UI Design - still in progress, just two concepts by BitcoinFridge. We need more graphics designers to help...
