Oops, I just realized he actually did repay a few hours ago. I have multiple wallets on different computers, so didn't notice at first, since Tx ID wasn't posted.

Well he took out a loan with me about a week earlier than this one - more than double the amount in this thread - that hasn't been repaid yet. I wasn't too worried though, it's just late.

EDIT: sorry it looks like moni3z did repay already.

I read this forum all the time but don't always log in, sorry for late shenanigams I have some extra BTC I'll split up later to cover a bit of interest for late payment between you and another loan, clean out my localbitcoins account. Takes forever here for fiat to clear piles of KYC red tape and buy coins which is why I do loans so I can get it right away for work

Just a bump, I've received no updates, and it's currently Aug 16th (Pretty much August 17th).  Awaiting 0.25 BTC repayment :O
1Q2CupiU5DfWupRGBQ66QYRqvxoNxGZCcn

Edit: Has not logged on since Aug. 12th? Huh Damn :-/

Hopefully it's just because it's the weekends or something...  I'll give this 24 more hours!

Don't start panicking.. One time I loaned him (he always uses the same address so you can be sure he controls that one) he was also a couple days late and hadn't logged in for several days, this is his normal behaviour.

He simply forgot about it but he will be back and trust me when I say this: he will give you extra interest. (he gave me some too that time)

I would give him another few days/a week just to be safe, I strongly believe he will pay back.
Interesting.. can you dig up the thread for that?

Also the neg rep until he does pay back seems fair.

Will do.

EDIT: Here is the reference, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/moni3z-loan-508435, he was only 1 day late but before he hadn't logged in at all since I sent him the loan. I was also scared but don't worry he will log in soon enough.

What a way to lose a Hero Member account...  Huh

I don't know why well-known Bitcointalk users scam other ones... let's see if he/she appears, but... i don't know what's going to happen.
Hope that refund the BTC to @monbux

Another possible red flag is the interest? I mean 0.05 for 3 days is ludicrous.

inb4 he's legit his account was worth more. I am aware that his account is worth more and he may well repay, but there are red flags.

sigh... another possible defaulter on some stacked loans. I was not aware that he took out this loan after I gave him a loan.

This is exactly why I don't allow borrowers to take out concurrent loans if they already have one with me. I do think he'll pay back when he comes online though.

moni if you dont wanna pay back monbux, then ill do it for you but give me your account if I am going to pay it cause your account is worth easy 1 bitcoin, so dont be dumb to throw a hero account for a small scam.

Monbux ill buy the account and recover your loan loss if I can for you.

Somehow the community has forgotten account values from before... do some digging and you'll find hero accounts at 0.5-0.7 BTC were normal.. so taking out loans of 0.4 value and possibly planning to sell the account to a third party as well is one possibility.

To clarify I'm not at all accusing here, just hypothesising.
A garbage hero account might go for that. A well-trusted Hero account like this, though? Not a chance in hell.

Hero accounts with positive trust sell for a lot more. On top of that, he has enough trust to get 3 BTC loans. Wouldn't it be a better idea (in the mind of a scammer) to run off with a 3 BTC loan instead of a 0.2 BTC loan? Like I said before, this doesn't make sense. I'm sure he'll pop up one of these days.

I find it odd that he'd steal .20 BTC when there are some buying accounts like his (2012, green positive trust) for up to 2.0 BTC. With red Trust, now it's worthless.

Maybe he did sell his account?

It's rather odd to me, aswell. Maybe this is the bought account? I really hate to try and make sense of the Lending section anymore.
There's roughly a 0% chance that he sold his account to someone who has any idea what he's doing.

An account like his would go for at bare minimum 1 BTC. At bare minimum. It could easily go for 200-500% of that. No one would buy his account to scam .65 BTC in loans.

He'll probably pay back. Just wait a few days and he'll pop in here with some excuse and an apology. I've seen it happen a hundred times.

if he defaulted that will be a waste of an account. He can earn that .65 in just 2-3 months

Something seems off. He has made several 1+ BTC loans. His highest loan was 3 BTC. There is no way he would just default a 0.2 BTC loan. Sometimes you see people who take and repay small loans in order to earn trust and default on a big loan later on. This would be the exact opposite of that. I guess there's an explaination for this (personal issues or whatever).
He has been a member for two years - sometimes people aren't online for a few days.

I will take bets up to 0.1 BTC on whether or not he pays back both the .2 BTC and .45 BTC loans (I say he will pay back). Negotiate odds and length of time either here or through PM.

As seen in ledger he apparently has a second loan out from haploid. Possible bought multiple loan scam account :/
Doubt it's bought. His account is worth more than .65 BTC.
