I would only accept that he had any good intentions but got fucked up if at least he tried to pay half of the amount or tried to contact Shasan in the past one year to pay up the resr. One surely can not fail to completely make an effort for a full year.
No doubt that in 99.99% of th cases it is like you described, people intentionally not paying the loan back and is most likely the case here as well. I just mentioned one of the possible scenarios that should be taken into consideration when giving out a loan as it is another risk factor.

Have you ever ran the numbers and able to learn how much you lost from this business?
Sorry but not counted. But based on the doge and BTC price it is a big amount.

If a campaign was closed or paused I think it's important to communicate this to the lender to work something out or better yet buy more time... seeing Legendary Members default over less than a $100 and disappear off the forum is really saddening to see after all the time & sweat put in to grow the account and reputation Cry

It would be nice to see if these users are from the same community as this might be a farmer that has no value for these accounts!
You are right and I think they might have many more accounts and the main reason to take a loan is to default the loan and leave the forum.

I wonder why he paid 3 times delay penalty + interest rate. He paid backt $100.Then stalled? Stupid scammer.
It is because the user was on a signature campaign or tried to rejoin on signature campaign.

They should negotiate with the payment; there will be a point where many projects will launch their campaigns and higher-ranking members get priority. I've seen legendaries scam for $50. I guess if they want to sell their account, there will be no taker for lack of campaigns, as people are buying accounts to join campaigns.

Signature campaigns are not losing their reputation its still the best marketing tool to brand your platform and Bitocintalk is the the best platform to launch a signature campaign, I'm positive that in the coming days more campaigns are coming, or Shasan will have to choose who he wants to give loan if campaign continue to be scarce.
I agree with you and for future loans, I must check who is on the signature campaign and who is not, recent merit, and so on.

Who knows, maybe his intial intention was not to scam but something happened in his life that caused him defaulting the loan and subsequentlly getinng flagged&tagged over measly $100. Stuff like death and sickness happen and is another risk to consider when lending someone money.
yeah, he was in a signature campaign and then he probably got removed afterward. But I think what he did was a very bad decision. He started small and then kept increasing to a bigger amount which he could not manage to pay within the stated period

What is odd, at least IMO is that it was a semi-good & somewhat active account till the end.
Might not have been able to get into one of the better signature campaigns but should have been able to get into something.

It looks like they tried a little and then just walked away. But as pointed out they did make some payments which is odd.

I kind of remember this user but I don't remember good or bad or anything just that I have seen the username before this.

Since now it's harder to join a campaign and not many campaign open for new participant, I'd say lending service now is really risky, only 2K+ merits user are high unlikely to scam.
Having been on the side that has taken loans from Shasan, I think his a very understanding person and others
will attest to this and don't understand why default on the loan!

Not again shasan. Have you ever ran the numbers and able to learn how much you lost from this business? I think it's more than buying a good car. Sorry for you again brother.

Tagged the account and flag supported but I think there are no use anymore, you are not going to get your money back.

There was something off about this guy's loan request patterns. He started small (50 USDT loan request) and then each other time he requested for a new loan, he kept increasing the amount, probably building false trust until he probably felt like his account's reputation was worth 300 USDT

This is really sad.

It might be a scam attempt but while s/he asked for a loan the person was in a signature campaign. Probably scam happened as s/he was out of the signature campaign.

Flag supported even though I don't think it will be of any use.
You might be right but sometimes it might be helpful too. For example, I may turned off from DT and I may be offline for a period of time eg 7 days. At this time the user may take another loan from another person. Several cases already happened for a few users who have not left any tags and few I may not seen and a few I could not verify whether repayment was made or not.

let's say only Hero+ are offered a certain amount in loan, and the amount shouldn't exceed a certain figure.
It can't work as a legendary member can default 60$/70$

The reason why they can't pay their loan because they kicked out from campaign or the campaign ends, as we know the number of signature campaign now keep declining.
And it happens for long-lasting campaigns. A lot of users who are in a long-lasting campaign could not gather a good amount of merits. As a result, when the user kicked off the campaign there was almost no chance of being accepted on any new campaign as a result the user left the forum and defaulted the loan.

There are longest-running campaigns that paused or ended their campaigns. If this continues, Shasan may only choose who can get a loan or stop his lending business; the lending business is very risky. If the loaner cannot get on a campaign, he might choose to do an exit scam rather than pay his loan, especially if the amount is huge.

I hope to see new campaigns in the coming days. This is one of the times that there are only a few campaigns running, and I'm sure the bounty managers are working hard to find new clients.

let's say only Hero+ are offered a certain amount in loan, and the amount shouldn't exceed a certain figure.
It doesn't work, the recent 4 defaulters are Hero+ and two of them only taking out a loan less than $100.

Hero Memeber defaulted 0.005 BTC Loan [DoublerHunter]
Legendary Memeber defaulted 0.023 BTC Loan [seleme]
Legendary Memeber defaulted 70$ Loan [agustina2]
Legendary Memeber defaulted 60$ Loan [chaser15]

One of the bad aspects of lending services without collateral is defaulters, flags have been supported, I will suggest that loan offers should be limited in both the amount and account subject to the account's reputation before approval, let's say only Hero+ are offered a certain amount in loan, and the amount shouldn't exceed a certain figure.

I believe that lenders should together keep track of how many times a user has asked for a loan, and then automatically deny them additional loans beyond X non-collateral loans per calendar year.

Maybe 2, definitely 1 in the case of newbies. But even two is too much I think.

I see a very striking case about that in the Lending section that I think will end up like this case at some point, but that's up to whoever lends the money.
