I have provied them with all the documents they required, but they said my account is too high risk and they will not unblock it, I don't know what risk is it they are talking about or why after a year they have decided to lock my account without any prior notification.

Let this be a warning for anyone with their Localbitcoins account, they are changing policies I guess, this kind of thing happens all the time when businesses think they are big enough they start making new strict policies and become selective. They also forget those who were there for them when they were starting.
We dont know whats the exact reason why they do block accounts without any strong proofs? Did they explain it to you how your account is a high risk one? Supposedly what are the things that you are doing in the year you are using them? They would not do such act if you didnt violate anything but the one thing that really curious me is they still havent unblock your account even you did give the requirement that they said.

You do get banned for no reason and they don't even provide an explanation.
I opened and account about 4 years ago but never used it. Recently I wanted to register, but noticed that my email was already in the system. Upon requesting new login details and logging in I saw that my account was banned by staff. I contacted support to unban me and all I got was a stupid email saying that my account was considered high risk and that I'm not allowed to trade anymore. On top of that they threatened to ban me if I open a new account.
I never traded before. My accont has 0 trades and 0 reviews. This is so weird.

Well, imagine they have a rule in theirs TOS that specify they don't allow coins coming from casinos and related websites wallet (Like Coinbase has) If you were buying Bitcoin and the seller has just sent you coins coming from such websites, you have no way to know it. I don't know about Amazon or Itunes but it may be forbidden to sell cards if you're not an authorized reseller or something like that?
But in my opinion if they want to tell you how their system flagged your account as high risk, it seems to be something related to the account behavior (log in from different IP country, or whatever...)
Any idea why some services like LBC and Coinbase are against coins coming from casinos etc?
Seems pretty fucked up that they're practically policing users on what they're able to do with their Bitcoins.

OP, what country are you from btw? Could be a combination of selling gift cards (possibility of fraud) + being from a country that's flagged.

Why is it effed up that they're policing users? The site belongs to them and not to these sick gamblers. I do understand you're feeling all hurt and traumatized by the fact that gamblers and advocates of gamblers (like you, as your signature and avatar imply) but live with it. It won't change and it's a good thing.

Exchanges not allowing coinage movements from these thieving casinos have every right to block such transactions. Some of them have partnered with card issuers whose terms and conditions strictly prohibit the use of their cards in relation to gambling. Online gambling is illegal in certain jurisdictions and exchanges do want to operate without the burden of regulatory restrictions. So it's a good thing that they prohibit and block transactions originating from these online casino scams.

My Localbitcoins account is suspended for no apparent reason and with no notification I just can't make new transactions, I contacted support and I wait their reply, hope this gets resolved soon, anyone faced this situation before ? how did it go ?
Your account was suspended probably due to suspicious transactions in your account, or maybe your account started seeming fishy or they noticed some illegal transactions in your account. You should contact customer care as soon as possible.

be careful about centralized exchanges, they can do whatever they want with your info and your account/funds. I'd recommend to find a decentralized provider
If your local Bitcoin account was suspended, then there may be certain reasons behind that. You can contact the service providers and the administrators, they will let you know what the problem is. You need not to worry much about it. This will be sorted out in short span of time.

To all the thing you do mentioned its really possible and might one of the reasons why a certain user have been blocked by LB. Theres nothing we can do if they flagged our account as high risk even though questions do flied out on our minds on what is the thing on which our account considered as high risk. If you can able to dare on giving your details to comply with their rules then its you choice.

The same issue!!!

They blocked my account with all the coins inside and don't lemme transfer it!!!
No reason, no explanation, just "our system marked your account like high risk".
No one coin has been bought there on their website, all the coins have been deposited from outside wallets.
No one negative feed for 500 trades, no claims, no problems!

I made the correct remark that they have no rule about the required ID verification and by their rules that's only my choice - verify my account or not, that they can block me from trading if I'm not a good customer by their opnion but they have no right to seize my coins with NO reason.
No correct respond from they and no any comments about absolutely correct remark! Just the same respond like "our system marked" and "your account will be frozen until you will complete the verification process".

They seems like real SCAMMERS now!!!

Be aware and don't left on their website more than you can lost!!!

Let this be a warning for anyone with their Localbitcoins account, they are changing policies I guess, this kind of thing happens all the time when businesses think they are big enough they start making new strict policies and become selective. They also forget those who were there for them when they were starting.

They gave me no reason, no explanation, no notification. I was trading iTunes and Amazon Gift cards, have more than 1000 trades, they asked for proof of ID in selfie and stuff I gave them, yet they say it's high risk, what kind of risk is it ? don't we use Localbitcoins for the escrow they provide to minimize risk ? It's as if they don't trust themselves to do a good arbitration.

Here is their answer:

"Hi,

Our automated fraud/risk detection system has flagged your account as high risk. The flag can be caused by a number of factors. We don’t specify what exactly caused the flag in order to allow us to remain proactive with regards to these risks.

Before we can unblock your account we will require you to complete some additional ID verification steps.

1. A photograph of you ("Selfie") holding up your ID a long with a note containing your username and today's date.
2. A photograph of a recent utility bill with your name on it.
3. A photograph of your ID held up in front of your computer screen with the whole screen visible (all four corners) and this ticket page visible.

Once you have completed these steps - reply to this support ticket and attach the photographs you've taken.

---
Best regards,
LocalBitcoins"

It's an automated reply, I hope they will resolve the issue soon as I have provided all they ask.
The only hard photo is of the ID with the screen, the light from the screen makes the phone reduce ISO, thus the ID becomes less visible, they did not think this one through I guess.
They do really have the right to suspend your account since they detect unusual activity on it which means you dont have any choice but to comply on the things that have been mentioned. If you dont like to expose of your identity then better not to send any of the requirements posted above. Moved on and create another account if you wish but i think they would be somehow strict basing on IP? correct me if im wrong.

Strange! There must be any unusual activity with that account. You have no other option rather than waiting for the support reply. Have you every verified the account by providing KYC details? Did you notice any unusual activity/feedback on your account? I am trading with my unverified account but never faced such issue so far in last 3 years.
