I made a similar suggestion in the past. Inline with OP, I was frequenting the reputation board and many of the threads in that board are easily locked, especially when the matter is tread. So, at the first page of that board, you could see about 20 locked topics which doesn't appear pleasant to the eyes and they might never be unlocked again. I therefore suggested that there be Push-down button which will push all the locked topics down the board. The suggestion received some reactions, you might want to read also from there.

Any post that is locked can be deleted or neither hidden the only thing there is that since that post remain inactive other active thread and topic would over take them making it to appear at the bottom of the board since more active thread and topics are being posted over the board. If those locked topics are deleted then you can use ninjastic to filter it out from the user who posted it.

You can take a look at this script from NLNico: Ignore threads - user script
Good find.
I didn't know about this user script, but it can be very useful, and I looked for something like this for a long time.
Just installed the script and it is behaving in similar way like when you ignore member, all his topics look almost the same as hidden boards with this script.
Maybe someone can fork it and make some changes, I would like to see option to totally hide boards.

I quickly looked at the source code of the script, it's actually very simple.

Open the "Ignore threads" script in the Tampermonkey editor. Go to the last line (below '// Style') and add this in a new line:
Code:
$('body').append("");

This should hide the entire ignored topic line. I tested in Firefox browser, and it works.

The only drawback is that the "+" button, which previously allowed you to unignore the thread, is now hidden.  The only way to restore the thread is to click on "IGNORED THREADS" in the main menu and manually remove the topic ID from the list.

Is there any option here in the forum that let you hide lock topic on specific board? This feature will be beneficial for user like me
It can be a users script but with it, you will hide sticky threads too.

Did you think of sticky threads when you have this idea?

Hide locked topics that you don't need to see is good but how about sticky threads that usually are locked by forum moderators too?

This feature is an optional which means people that will use it will have time to read the sticky thread before they can apply the changes.

On my case, I will use it mainly on game and rounds board which the only sticky in there is just a warning to all users that will start a thread and not for participants. Besides you should memorize all the sticky thread if you are already exploring the forum to always abide forum rules.

This thread is really what I’m looking for if maintain properly as an alternative to this feature. Sadly this kind of task is very hard to do in regular basis now that there’s already a lot of casino have a multiple regular contest in weekly basis.
Maintaining such topic properly is very hard task as it requires daily updates - new contests appears and ends every day. I don't know, maybe it would be possible to write a bot which would scrap this board, but I doubt there is enough demand for it.
After all, IMO, tracking this board manually isn't hard task as we don't have 2-3 pages of new topics each day.

Good find.

I also wasn't aware about this script as it was made long time ago and didn't got much attention, but I see that is listed in overview of Bitcointalk scripts:

I can suggest several ways to hide it

Clicking on which will lead you to the most recently answered topics, which often contain fewer locked topics.

using the uBlock Origin plugin. Install it, whether on Firefox or Chrome, and then modify the forum rules, which may delete or hide forum elements.
Code:
bitcointalk.org##

I don't find it annoying, so you will need to click on the elements and know exactly what you want to hide, but removing them from discussions is not useful.

@suchmoon Does the bpip extension have this kind of feature? Currently away from my desktop due to my current location to check this myself. I can’t find this feature on the OP of BPIP thread but maybe I missed few update on some of your post in the thread.

No, I don't think the BPIP extension has this. I couldn't find anything like that in the options.

@decodx thanks, I really appreciate it as an alternative to this feature.

Another idea I read somewhere... If you use uBlock Origin or any other adblocker that lets you add your own rules, you can probably train it to automatically hide all locked topics as if they were banner ads. I haven't personally tried this yet, but I bet its possible, you just need to find the right html element that needs to be blocked.

There's no such feature in any smf forums, and i don't think it will be added as this is the only thread request i saw for such feature. You might check this thread but unfortunately, last update was January

There is no of such feature yet on the forum. Although I actually second that the hide or probably ignore thread feature will be beneficial to not just lock threads but also to Those repetitive threads one is not interested in and they keep bumping up. For your request I think the only way round it as I can search on this before is to make use of the script here on this thread, you can use to ignore a thread on different boards.

Other suggestions could be to the creators of such thread once you lock it and probably it has served its purpose then wouldn’t it be better to move it to Archival board if it is not yet time to delete it, as it will help clean board.

Edit: decodx had it already

Is there any option here in the forum that let you hide lock topic on specific board? This feature will be beneficial for user like me that usually visit game and rounds board frequently to check ongoing giveaways and contests. This feature can clean filter the list and easily find open contest. Those lock topic thread are from contest that already concluded which means it has no use already.

Please point out to me if there’s an existing option. I already check the forum settings but didn’t find this feature.

You can take a look at this script from NLNico: Ignore threads - user script

After installing, you can ignore any thread with a simple + button next to the title in a thread overview. This doesn't actually remove a thread from the overview, it just applies the new style so that other threads become more visible.
