It shouldn't be a problem as long as they're not actively using both. An admin could insert an extra post for them as I believe has been done in the past. Tell them to contact theymos and maybe he will do it.
That would be a very lenghty process. Asking to theymos, waiting for his response and the changes. Better to create a new one as they will have the previous thread locked. Thank you a lot for your response. Off topic- I'm waiting for your response in this thread too- [Request to mod/admin] Can I create a topic on "other language"?

It can be a problem if casino want's to hide their shady past making new self moderated topic that is censored.
I can assure you nothing like that is going to happen. It's just they want to have 2 reserve post.

I'm locking the thread as it solved.

Is it allowed? There's a casino which already have a thread but that’s not in the way they are looking for. They want ro have 2 posts reserved for updates etc. But it's nit anymore possible in the old thread. Should they create a new one instead and lock the old one?
There is nothing wrong about creating new topic, this can be done for many reasons or when you want to make a fresh start with redesign and new people.
I even saw people creating topics with same titles like original topics and they are not connected with them in any way.

What casino are we talking about here?

Yes, it's possible; IIRC, Lauda had a similar problem on "this" thread, and one of the admins inserted a few posts on his/her behalf...

Post #5 = December 03, 2016, 09:47:44 AM
Post #6 = November 18, 2017, 10:23:09 PM [was added after ten and a half months]
Post #7 = December 03, 2016, 10:05:45 AM
This is kinda weird... shouldn't a mod leave an editorial note in its own name even if it added an extra post?

Some time ago I asked the mod to remove all messages from this thread and instead of deleting them, he pulled them out of the thread and transferred them to the archive (creating another thread). This way my thread ID was left untouched and I was able to add as many fallback posts as I wanted.  Tongue

Although in this case I'm not sure that such a request will be considered as we are talking about a commercial thread.

They want ro have 2 posts reserved for updates etc.
It has happened before (very) few times, but I don't know where you have to ask - whether it's theymos or the mods can do it too (I think that only admin though).
@NeuroticFish is right [link to another similar case] and only an admin is capable of inserting such posts [refer to the following posts by theymos: #1 and #2]...
- In addition to those, @hilariousandco mentioned a possible workaround as well, but you still need to ask for someone else's help!

For only reserving more space at start (2 extra posts), it is possible without new thread if the current thread already has traction/it's well known. It has happened before (very) few times, but I don't know where you have to ask - whether it's theymos or the mods can do it too (I think that only admin though).

If there are other reasons too, then yes, write into old thread's initial post the location of the new thread and lock the old.

just to clarify, do you mean they want to reserve two post spots on the first page of the thread for updates and such?
Yeah, they want the first two replies to be posted by them as reserved. Since gambling sub has a rule of one thread per casino, this is important for them, otherwise, getting banned for that would be ridiculous and they will have no door to promote them in bitcointalk.

anyway, as far as I know, they can create a new thread/ANN thread as long as they lock the old thread or maybe move the old thread to archival. I've seen a casino do this before and the new ANN thread they created was not deleted or locked.

Yes if they can (they'd probably have to lock the old thread and lose some reputation/reviews unless they link to it and users actively go there).

If they already have one reserved post though, they could look into anchoring and linking to content from within that one post (having both mentioned and then hr'd and anchors linking from the titles).
