I really hope to see the day when graphics designers are a sought after business resource. And everyone who does graphics designs work with ethical pay. Sites like Fiveer really make it impossible for that.
Wow I'd never heard of Fiveer. Why on earth do people devalue themselves so much. You can't possibly live off $5 jobs. I'm honestly shocked there are people on the site at all!
However, a short search through fiverr, and I noticed alot of disputing. Often times clients will not be happy with what they received. They dispute it with the artist on fiverr's system.. Which honestly sounds like a complete nightmare.
But yes, I totally agree with you on this. Lowballing one's self on such a massive scale.. It's a huge threat to the field.

@BitWhispers You can always do a contest for your logo and offer a bitcoin prize to the winner, that way you can have more option being offered by good designers and also they can showcase their talents.
Please don't suggest this. Contests are not fair for everyone involved, and the end product is often not high quality. It's unethical, and looks extremely bad on businesses. Might I suggest that op actually hire a graphics designer, there are many on this forum, and many even in this thread. We can all co-exist as graphics designers.
Agreed. No good designer (or professional at anything) would ever enter a competition and potentiallay work for free.
You should hire a designer based on previous work and pay them. This way they'll focus only on your job and the result will be a lot better
Who said they'd do it for free? The OP would've put some prize and if he likes a logo he can choose it as a winner and award the one who made it.

I've been doing graphics design for many years, and I can honestly say, that graphics and graphics designers are not treated with enough respect.
You wouldn't go to a mall and say "Attention all Suit tailors, I need a suit. Everyone should make me a suit, and I will pay for 1 suit that I really like. The rest of you, go home."
