Further to what @nc50lc just said trust settings are individual to each user. You can add or remove people from your trust network which then changes the trust ratings you see. So as a guest there is no trust rating to see as you do not have a trust network.

If you go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust you will see DefaultTrust is already added but you can customise it however you like.

As a Guest (logged out) Visitor, you cannot see the default trust because it is a feature solely built for the Marketplace where someone without an account can't participate actively.
When you login, it will become available again.

Merit however, is a part of your profile like "posts", "activity" and "position" which are useful informations even for guests.

Anyone can reproduce that no trust-link screenshot by opening anyone's profile in an "incognito mode" window.

Why when I sign out I can’t see trust while I can see merit? "Both need login access  but merit can be seen without logging in"
