Basically Greece has the situation under control. It's probably because the hospitals there are actual hospitals rather than fleecing tents and because the people there, despite not having been through this situation before understand the risks of what might happen.

By the way, I grew up in Greece and I never visited a brothel, even when I was invited to go to one with some friends. It's not because I don't wanna have a bunch of sex and it's not because I think prostitution is immoral. It's because I think it's lame to have to pay for sex, to a certain degree.
Although, true story, Greeks if not number 1 in sexual activity are somewhere in that ballpark.

I wonder if the police will get many volunteers to work as observers.

That wouldn't fly in Greece, it's not a police matter.

Greece, unlike many other places in this world, is not a police state. Living there, you're not constantly watched over by the police, society there expects everyone to be responsible, and also treats people like adults.
...

Wait...

So you are going to ruin a good hooker story?

Darn...

Masks are dangerous, no matter who wears them. Masks are generally designed for wearers to keep from infecting others with their sickness. Viruses go through them.

The point for brothels is, the people who work there and people who frequent them are sick already. No masks are needed. Check below why masks are dangerous for people who aren't sick.

Face Masks Pose Serious Risks To The Healthy

As businesses reopen, many are requiring shoppers and employees to wear a face mask. Costco, for instance, will not allow shoppers into the store without wearing a face mask. Many employers are requiring all employees to wear a face mask while at work. In some jurisdictions, all citizens must wear a face mask if they are outside of their own home.  ? TN Editor

With the advent of the so-called COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen a number of medical practices that have little or no scientific support as regards reducing the spread of this infection. One of these measures is the wearing of facial masks, either a surgical-type mask, bandana or N95 respirator mask. When this pandemic began and we knew little about the virus itself or its epidemiologic behavior, it was assumed that it would behave, in terms of spread among communities, like other respiratory viruses. Little has presented itself after intense study of this virus and its behavior to change this perception.

This is somewhat of an unusual virus in that for the vast majority of people infected by the virus, one experiences either no illness (asymptomatic) or very little sickness. Only a very small number of people are at risk of a potentially serious outcome from the infection—mainly those with underlying serious medical conditions in conjunction with advanced age and frailty, those with immune compromising conditions and nursing home patients near the end of their lives. There is growing evidence that the treatment protocol issued to treating doctors by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), mainly intubation and use of a ventilator (respirator), may have contributed significantly to the high death rate in these select individuals.

By wearing a mask, the exhaled viruses will not be able to escape and will concentrate in the nasal passages, enter the olfactory nerves and travel into the brain.

~Russell Blaylock, MD~

As for the scientific support for the use of face mask, a recent careful examination of the literature, in which 17 of the best studies were analyzed, concluded that, " None of the studies established a conclusive relationship between mask/respirator use and protection against influenza infection."1   Keep in mind, no studies have been done to demonstrate that either a cloth mask or the N95 mask has any effect on transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Any recommendations, therefore, have to be based on studies of influenza virus transmission. And, as you have seen, there is no conclusive evidence of their efficiency in controlling flu virus transmission.

Edit: Minor additions.

Edit2: Also the whole thing is kinda reasonable, you don't spread coronavirus from having sex while wearing a condom, but from cough and spit. If someone's wearing a mask, spit isn't getting involved. So technically it should be about as safe as a haircut if everyone follows the rules also the only article I found in Greek media states that brothels will reopen not that they already have, and the news is only coming from one small part of the country in one small newspaper.

Another proof that coronavirus restrictions are made by imbeciles.
I bet fans of submission and bondage will find it to be just another day in the office.

I wonder if the police will get many volunteers to work as observers.

I'm sure of it. The department is filled with psychos and perverts. Also, the IQ of the average police officer is below average, so we can expect a lot of raids to check if the requirements are met by the staff and their clients.

And then ask them to take & send pictures of the non-conforming hookers to the cops.

Maybe also equip some surveillance police drones with explosives & pepper spray in case a hooker is caught red-handed.

Yes there are countries where organized prostitution is legal, and the State even licenses and health checks the establishment.

However, regarding COVID-19, this is absurd. If a single infected enters the place, it will very likely spread to everybody else in there. This is the same to any kind of place where people visit; it is pointless to make people sit away from each other inside, when everyone is getting in and out thru the same corridor, where a single sneeze or cough could very well spread the virus to everyone else walking the same path later...

No, this is one of those things that should remain closed until the pandemic is over, unless you do the same as with restaurants: Delivery only... (and hope the person isn't infected).

And yes, i know this might be shocking to some, but look at wikipedia.

Its like drugs. Just because they are legal in some place, doesn't mean everyone is doing it. Do not prejudice people...

Granted, in that kind of place, there are other types of virus you should be more worried about, many without a cure or vaccine...

That is funny, they want to re-open and use nose mask, how about during the act, are they still going to wear face mask on their organs. They rather think of something else.

In the Zerohedge article. I only found one link to back it up... The Newspaper.

It's in Greek, and it is very short, and nobody is enough interested to go and do a Net search, right?

Your country may be your worst enemy
I've never seen a brothel, nor a prostitute In Greece.
Maybe I haven't been there long enough?
As a comparison, I have seen plenty of women on the streets in France, Germany, Italy, Spain or even Switzerland.

^^^ I would be willing to bet that it isn't the whole Greek society that does this stuff. And it is true that the humor involved is a crazy, ironic, off-based, junky humor.

The point for us is this. If Greeks can do this and not get sick, or at least not get any sicker than anyone else, then the whole pandemic might not be as bad as it is said to be.

If the pandemic is a lie, what is worse? The pandemic promoters who are lying to us all? Or people who frequent whorehouses?

Let's keep our eyes open regarding this kind of thing.

Videos of this should really be funny. Cheesy At least we have humor in Covid.

Greek Brothels To Reopen But Hookers And Clients Required To Wear Masks And Gloves

While Americans are bickering over when to reopen malls, restaurants and casinos, Greece has managed to get its "most essential" businesses up - so to speak - and running. By which we of course mean brothels.

Brothels in Greece - where a global pandemic can't possibly stop the local men from getting their dose of sex-for-sale - are set to re-open soon, however with a set of new laughably absurd protection measures, on top of the precautions one would already expect when visiting a brothel, according to The Newspaper.

Customers at brothels will be required to wear plastic masks and gloves while having sex, according to the Greek press. And in addition to the robust security already needed in a brothel, the additions of thermometers, disposable sheets and "frequent periodic disinfection" of the business will all be a part of post-coronavirus brothel life (it wasn't immediately clear how s temperatures of both hookers and clients would be taken).

Cool

@BADecker this is a disgusting way to indulge oneself, and I’m not sure why the men of Greece feel that they’ll get any kind of pleasure by doing this?. In my personal opinion they should drop this ridiculous idea, and wait for things to normalise otherwise people will soon stop visiting them, and they’ll incur unnecessary looses.
