The word racist is so much used nowadays without any real reason.
You do what everyone would do in your position. You don't risk your health when an epidemic trend has started around the world lately. It is not about fearing Asians it is about fearing Corona virus.

So, for how long are you going to do this. I mean, keep running from people with mask & hand glove?
Are you an italian? i'm sorry about the question because i notice some in italian store owner's in itay who actually wrote a small note just before entrance into their store that "chineese are not welcome"

All of those airlines, and cruiselines, and countries that have closed their boarders and/or restricted travel with China are racist..
The CCP is racist for quarantining all those Chinese people.. The USA is racist for quarantining recent travelers from the epicenters and evacuating our citizens..

These are all great ideas. I can perfectly align with this sensible replies. Artmis3 has some nice thoughts but part from his kind effort he is fully incorrect in my sensible estimation.

If they are wearing anti gas masks to suck the germs of other people in, I think that would not be good for them, so I think you are thinking the wrong ideas of their purpose to wear it. Also why they wear the diver mask and gloves ? This was for their own protect but one look very sick he did not remember his goggle and his eyes are appearing red or maybe was crying.

Your other ideas are good. It can be true that I can escape from nothing and run into a plume of vapour earlier exploded into the air where I escape too. Still I will think that because this corona is most from China I will avoid this sickly looking Chinese first above other that don't look sick including Chinese too because I don't be a racist. I must use my math probability skill set to navigate the dangerous waters of life like my math teacher always say to the class.

I feel good today because now my friends have told me I will be run down by a train and blown up by a light bolt from the storm strike and crushed by a meteorite in my bed before corona virus can kill me. All of those sound easier than to be drowning in mucus. I think they mean or not and because 1 will be sufficient and the probability too much with and. Or is perhaps still a joking idea.

My opinion is the best idea to still avoid persons looking sick and sneezing. I don't need to remain there inhaling their germs because they are different race to my one. Any race looking ill and sneaking I will avoid it.

Also I google anti gas mask I think he is joking who want to suck worse gas inside their mask.  Maybe comes with free tank of poison gas to try it out lol ...the concentration when released into the room not enough to kill unless you wearing anti gas mask and it filter out the non harmful part to ensure certain death lol

Lol, you are the type that would probably get infected by moving away from someone that scares you but doing that gets you closer to a wall or something somebody else has sneezed at before, getting infected that way without you ever knowing who it was but left the place minutes ago.

I don't see the point of scuba glasses or gloves, but the typical flu mask is meant to keep the flu to themselves, its not meant to stop things from outside getting in (its not an anti-gas mask). It's similar to you sneezing into a fabric rather than in the open, to trap the things in the fabric and not leave them floating around for others to get infected.

Your reaction was indeed wrong. If you are that scared, don't go out for a couple of months. If you are the type that sneezes in the open, you are the one spreading it. But if you instead use a fabric when sneezing, (such an Asian wearing a mask) you are trying to keep others from getting infected as well.

Note that its pointless to wear the mask when you are fine. Remember what i just wrote above. It may be that they were also doing things by ignorance, such things happen when people get scared.

Imagine what the medics need to face everyday in a hospital, and the professionals attending the actual quarantined areas, or the immigration officers and the people who get in contact with travelers from the affected areas (and those that keep it a secret, or even escape quarantine).

Everyday more people die in car accidents PLUS the Coronavirus, than people who die in car accidents alone.

You aren't leaving the carriage because they are Chinese, you are leaving it because of the potential of coronavirus.

If a bunch of 'normal' Chinese people got into the carriage, you wouldn't have left.
If a bunch of people of any race, wearing face masks and coughing had got into the carriage you would have left.
If a bunch of people of any race, not wearing face masks or coughing, but carrying baggage with 'Wuhan International Airport' stickers plastered over, you'd possibly have run out screaming.

The only possible route to racism here is the association you're making between Chinese people and coronavirus. Is this a legitimate link to make? Well, it's being shoved in our faces every time we look at a news report in a paper, on TV or on the web. You can't help but make the association, even if it's purely on a subconscious level.

People might be tempted to say it's the same as seeing every muslim as a terrorist, but I would argue that the muslim thing is different, and is racism. This is because in this instance you are ascribing deliberate ill-intent to every muslim you see, you are thinking every muslim is evil and wants to kill you. In the China/coronavirus case however, you are seeing the face masks and the coughing and just making the association that they may be carrying the virus. Not the same thing.

It was a racist act but its not your fault.  Everyone does racist things by accident.  I don't think someone is "a racist" until they intentionally do racist things after knowing the truth.  You just didn't know that you are more likely to get sick from non-asian people, non-corona viruses, and especially non masked/goggled/gloved individuals.

I was sit on the train with no other person in my superior class. The others preferring to pay budget and have discomfort and noise. I not wealthy but it worth a extra fee to watch my phone with no disturbance.  

Next thing 6 Chinese or perhaps Japan coming with mask, gloves and even diving goggles. 1 sneezing and coughing. Fearing my health I jump out my seat and remove from this class to any other space with the budget. Actually I prefer to jump off the train but not sure if that would be more danger than virus. It start to move before I look up from my phone and notice the possible danger  

Of course they might not be corona virus sufferers but I will not risk if I can avoid to suffer too. This is sensible I feel.

I think they notice my fear cos I hear them shouting after me racist pig and other attacks to me. Usually I would fight them for a ubuse me like this but I prefer to avoid contact if possible.

I want to survive not be a racist wtf one have a full face hazard mask like nuclear mask. I have no protection. If they not sneezing and coughing I will may keep my superior class seat.

I don't have any racist ideas if anyone black or Caucasians was sneezing coughing right now I will remove from there. Why must I risk to get sick or be racist scum?
