You did left out #3 in market capitalization! XRP

for me ripple is not a good coin for a longterm because thats a centralized holding by banking ang governization. Much better a coin in the top of the list in the threads. Good for a longterm.

Yes diversify it, you said that you are investing in stocks and in forex, so it means that you have some revenue to recover from your future losses on the market. But if you are going to have a perfect portfolio, then dont invest in icos, or at least, invest in those that you trust a lot, there are some of them that are worth it, but a lot are just garbage that only wants to raise millions in order to create useless projects.

Diversify the 10% that you are going to invest in ico's in Litecoin and Ethereum, those are the most safe picks that you can do right now, ico's are garbage right now, you are just buying "dust" for a high price, so stay away from it, if you are smart enough to make profit on Stocks and Bonds, then you are smart to understand that Ico's are risky.. or just go to a casino and gamble with that 10%, it is going to have the same effect as if you invest that money in there. Good luck with your investment.

Hey guys,

i am currently investing 10% of my total assets (other 90% are stocks and bonds) in cryptos and i hope that i am not to late Wink (i gonna bring this money within the next 6 months to the market using dollar cost averaging).

I wanna handle these 10% like i do with my stock investments: buy and hold with a algo based rebalancing strategy.

I want to split the money as follows:

50% Bitcoin
20% ETH
10% Litecoin
5%   Monero
5%   BAT
10% ICO Picks (gambling) with an estimated holding to the next rebalancing period.

What do you guys think about this allocation and buy and hold strategies in general?

I am also very open for different allocations from long term investors.

Would be great if you share your long term portfolios and strategies!

Greets and Thanks!

I would rather stick with bitcoin if you are really in for the long haul brother. Bitcoin is a safe haven for investment specially long term based on the experienced of most old members here. I don't think that altcoins is a good hold to be honest. I also don't like to ICO's, just like you said its like gambling and most of them are scammy and chances are you gonna lose your money in there. Just stick to the reliable bitcoin market, you can't make any mistakes about it specially if you are going to invest long term. A good long term investment for me is 2-3 years and then revisit it and see how your investments grow.

Crypto enthusiast for years.
I just sugest to you take a look also on some Projects, just like DECENT, WINGS, WAVES, or LIKS. They are established on market, some are very cheap, so next summer should be great here.

I like the overall looks of it. 50% BTC is somehow a safehaven. 30% in well established coins. For you it´s ETH and Litecoin. Then 10 in smaller coins and 10 in ICO. My pics are a little different as i put monero in the "30% well established" . The 10% of small Pics for my goes to very cheap and small market cap coins. And instead of 10% ICO as my ignorance is unbeatable i go For assests that bring dividends. It´s TAAS at the moment.

Although I don't really understand about the advantages of BAT. But I think your allocation is good
buy and hold strategy for me is a long term investment
the most important thing in this strategy is buy on a cheap price and for that I need to see the history of price movements on charts
