Batch 2 of the S5+ is currently available for sale from Bitmain.

nope! it's just a good scam Wink

Yeah, I saw that just a minute ago.  I edited another post where I mentioned the second batch.  At least I didn't copy the scam link, but just said that it was available Smiley.  They did a pretty good job of mocking up Bitmain's site.

yeah thats pretty crafty, i wonder how many of these fake s5+ units they were able to sell (aka scam)

EDIT: as mentioned in the following post, I was incorrect about the availability of a second batch of S5+.  There IS NO SECOND BATCH.  The people propagating the rumor are spreading a scam link.

S5+'s (as well as used S5's) are out of stock.
I am pretty sure S5+'s have simply been removed from the market due to the dip in BTC value (not so sure about the used S5's though).
With that in mind, what chance the much vaunted S7 hits the shelves in the foreseeable future? I'd say very slim to ridiculously expensive.

did a TON of math to prove why you should wait.

And your TON of math, from what I saw, didn't even look at difficulty increases, and only looked at a very few power cost levels (10 cent power seems to be more common in the US than 8 cent and 12 cent COMBINED, for example).

They've been "sold out" for most of the last week now, as are the "used S5" units, I suspect Bitmain might actually release the S7 in late August or sometime in September making the whole point finally moot.

Difficulty increase at 3% is a bit high, but nicely conservative

This year to date has averaged 1.7%, but the last couple months have averaged a hair over 2%.

Whats the chance they will be worth $400 for a steady 5 months? We have to really be honest here. There's a chance, but the percentage is low.

They only need be 400 in the last two months.

Mine and hold the coins the first three months you mine.

Mine and hold and at end sell miner to a lower priced electricity area.   Miners bring a decent amount of money normally.

And if this is a one batch miner I think that will help value at time I end up selling after I'm done with it.   So I'm pretty happy would be nice if BTC was higher right now but i believe in BTC.

In this article I explain WHY you should wait on buying it, and also, I did a TON of math to prove why you should wait. All of my work is here, and is accurate, feel free to double check yourself:
https://thebtcpool.com/bitmains-s5-in-revenue/

A quote from your link:

———————————————————————————————-

That is a pretty long time to get ROI, but now, lets see what happen when Bitcoin is valued at $180.

———————————————————————————————-

Per Day:

At $0.05 kW/h = $4.20

At $0.08 kW/h = $6.72

At $0.12 kW/h = $10.08

Per Month

At $0.05 kW/h = $130.2

At $0.08 kW/h = $208.32

At $0.12 kW/h = $312.48

Now, lets look at revenue, mining in a pool:

Per Day: $13.40 (0.0744 BTC)

Per Month: $407.81 (2.266 BTC)

Time to add these together to look at your profits:

Per Day ($0.05 kW/h): $13.40 – $4.20 = $9.20 – Profit

Per Day ($0.08 kW/h): $13.40 – $6.72 = $6.68 – Profit

Per Day ($0.12 kW/h): $13.40- $10.08 = $3.32 – Profit

———————————————————————-

Per Month ($0.05 kW/h): $407.81 – $130.2 = $277.61 – Profit

Per Month ($0.08 kW/h): $407.81 – $208.32 = $199.49- Profit

Per Month ($0.12 kW/h): $407.81 – $312.48 = $95.33- Profit

Let’s not forget to add in the cost of the power supplies = $465

—————————————————————————————-

Total Price Of Equipment = $2,815 USD

Price To Pay Off Equipment And Be In Green:

At $0.05 kW/h = 10 Months, 1 Week

At $0.08 kW/h =  1 Year, 2 Months

At $0.12 kW/h =  2 Years, 5 Months

———————————————————————————————

Well how about this  lets see what happens if you have the  psu's  cost is about 2450 with shipping
And  while we are at it lets see what happens when btc is 400 a coin

BTW they are no longer for sale

Now, lets look at revenue, mining in a pool:

Per Day: $17.49 (0.744 BTC)

Per Month: $532.44 (2.266 BTC)
==snip==

Thanks for catching that, I wrote this at 230am and was having a headache with all the numbers, along with having multiple chat windows up. Thanks man!

If BTC drops to 180 steady we are all in trouble.  It will not just be this miner.

I knew when I got one it's a long ROI (and yes there is a risk I dont ROI).  But I accept that and wanted one to mine with.   No matter what it can't be as hard as mining I went through with A2 chips just barly ROI'ed.  And a lot did not ROI there.

Next, write some BS article, whu you should wait on buying 7 x used Antminer S5 for 370 USD pic and post it on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0 .    Because there still bought them yet at that price.    Shocked

............................................................................

"ROI" formula     Wink

Some of you guys are funny with your talk of "roi." Here's how it's supposed to be done... you buy the newest miners you can, you run them for a few months making about 1/2 or so back on your money and you sell them used for just about the price you paid for them new (in the case of S5s even more money!) That's how you "roi." Rinse and repeat.
