On a related note to the OP's original question, has anyone ever tried UNDERVOLTING the CPU? When going into the motherboard BIOS i sometimes see a feature for undervolting the CPU. Will it be possible to mine with this setting?

Also i understand most CPUs are running at 45watts when idle, is mining considered idle?

i heard that someone can lower the power consumption to 720w for 6 x rx570 at 165mhs.

how they do that?

By doing BIOS mods and correct overclocking settings.

Basically you simply do the BIOS mod first using the best timing straps (varies depending on your GPU) then you find the best overclock settings by gradually decreasing core voltage while increasing core and memory clock speeds.

The consumption of your rig is good.

Disabling some services will not improve consumption, but will make your windows more stable for mining.

This is a great site which I used in the past already. It explains you very well how to build the perfect mining rig.

This is the best list that I have found: http://www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/black-vipers-windows-10-service-configurations/.  The annoying thing is that every Windows Creators' Pack seems to reset all the default services, so you have to disable them all over again. Also, there really doesn't seem to be that much difference in hash rate because most of the services that you can safely disable are set to only run when requested as opposed to running all the time in the background.

Hi guru,

I am running amd rx570 x6 on windows 10. Did bios mod to undervolt to reduce power consumption.
now get to 850w at 174mhs.

I would like to disable as many windows service as i can to save power consumption from windows system.
can everyone post a service?

Thanks a lot!
