The project is a real scam. I saw them on Upwork trying to hire 99 freelancers outside the platform. All messages were ignored. They just force everybody to register on their site.

Why would people fill in KYC before even being selected for the job?

This isn't standard procedure in the cryptocurrency space but in real life you are required to send a CV which would have the equivalent on it. But due to the nature of this request and how many companies are looking to pin personal information on those who use Bitcoin you will likely not get many applicants and you are therefore reducing your chance of hiring someone of real value to the company.

Respect peoples privacy in the cryptocurrency and only require personal information at the interview stage.
