I certainly think it is acceptable to ask a candidate to test beforehand. Also, with such condition escrow is such a prerequisite if dealing with between not trusted user. IMO, Again, I'd underline it as a miss communication. So, if you show me you can drive a car, does that mean I should give you a job of driving a truck without first testing if you can drive a truck. Be reasonable dude. Ch
I understand your concern, but if your "sample" of driving your trucks means I'm actually doing the job of driving the truck from A to B, then you have to pay for it.

From the "buyer" point of view: My recommendation is to not trust in designers who have no portfolios or previous jobs done. Other option is to give a minimal task, for a minimal price, to test them.
From the "designer" point of view: Scammers wants to pass jobs as "free samples" with the promise of an unexistent "real and good paid job", doing this they can get the whole job done by sending parts (the "free samples") to different designers. I see this a lot in 3D design.

Exactly bro. When I saw he could do the job, I told him I would give him at least 5 jobs today and he started insulting me. I have other ppl willing to do what he said he would charge for.

If you are not sure about the quality of their job, ask them to provide their own samples (jobs made for other people), not to make "your own samples for free". Otherwise I could ask you for a free sample of your money to see if you really can pay for my job... and I'll tell you "that money was just a sample, now you have to pay for real"....

I sent a message to this guy, sent him some images to see if he can do what i want. He started asking me for payments despite the fact that I didn't request the originals from him. All samples he did were with fake image stamp.
