Hey guys, I ended up being able to access my old wallet using a hard drive enclosure.

If this works for anyone, let me know. The terms are flexible, so let me know if there are any adjustments that you'd like to be made.

Edit: I'm aware that the amount I have requested in this post differs from the amount I asked for when creating this thread.

If you are able to sign a message from an older address then I would be able to help you.

If the above is not possible for whatever reason, then if theymos were to either post or PM me advising that his opinion that your account is not hacked then I would be able to accept a signed message from your 1Ah7..NhV address.

I feel Theymos might ask for the same information you are looking for. I'm going to try to get the wallet off of the old laptop using a hard drive enclosure. Will let you know if I end up getting the addresses back. I actually don't need the full amount I requested, anymore, but could still use a smaller amount.

Too many account sales going on these days, and too many scams being perpetrated from those accounts.  Your personal details aren't worth anything as collateral and if you can't sign a message from an old staked address, hopefully no one will be stupid enough to take you at your word.  No offense.

None taken. That's very understandable. I didn't realize such a problem has been occurring so frequently (I mean, scams have been rampant since I first joined the forum. But the account stealing seems like a new one.)

I received a pm from him yesterday asking for paypal exchange.

I just saw this thread and having a doubt after reading the subject of this thread.

Why would he need a loan when he already has 1 btc on his paypal account?

Something is fishy here...

I had a family member offer to send money to my Paypal account. It would have been ideal if that money was accessible to me that same day, but it usually takes a couple days to withdraw from Paypal.

I live in Portland, OR, and the Pioneer Square Mall has a Robocoin ATM inside. My thinking was that I could send you the Paypal money in exchange for bitcoin, send the bitcoin to my Robocoin account, and then withdraw the cash from the ATM in the mall. This is no longer needed, though, so you can ignore that message. Smiley

Are you still holding BTC for the forum? (it looks like the treasurer agreement is still in this thread, but the address appears empty, so I am going to say probably not). Are you able to sign a message from a very old address associated with your account?

I sent the BTC back to Theymos' on his request. It was decided that another member of the forum would be better off holding the BTC, as I had become significantly less active here.

Unfortunately, the last remaining copy of my old wallet was stored on a laptop which no longer runs. It might be possible to recover that data somehow, but for now the best I can do is sign using 1Ah7dq8ujDUSJvuiqKdEx71pLHssECSNhV (A little over half a year ago, I asked Magic8Ball to send a smaller loan to this address.) https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.11739017

As the title states, I am looking for someone to loan me either $400 or 1 BTC. I can pay this back plus a 20% interest within 3 months. I can offer my forum account as a collateral, and I'm also willing to provide personal information upon request (phone number, address, etc.) My username is my real full name, too-- so there's that. Smiley

Let me know if this sounds reasonable. Thanks!

Edit: Please see my latest post in this thread. I have recovered my old address which was used in the past to hold a portion of the forum's treasury, and have signed a message with it.
