It's unlikely that you'll get the most out of your investment while the web site is still full of crashingly obvious placeholder text, e.g. https://bitcoinauctions.net/buyer-protection

I recommend that before you go any further, you conduct a content inventory and ensure that the text and images have been tailored appropriately for the specific site context.

This is bitcoin-land, people will check and I regret to advise you that at the moment, the primary signal emitted is “run away”.

HTH

Cheers

Graham

You have a chicken and egg problem there.  No ones listing because you have no listings.

It is possible to advert throught Internet - it is not a problem - even it is not expensive.
The problem is another - there are not simply customers  Grin
Better sell your project, if possible and take some vacation !!!

It's also important to note what "the top of Google" means. Are they ranking you at the top of Google for keywords which no one is using? Or are you ranking for keywords which are actually valuable?

It's for the keyword "bitcoin auctions"

We're on page 4 currently

SEO here.

Anyone who promises to rank you at the top of Google is bluffing just to get your business. Nobody can promise to get you to the top of Google except Google itself. Since SEOs don't control Google, the best they can reasonably promise is to implement all the known best practices in order to boost your site's rankings.

It's also important to note what "the top of Google" means. Are they ranking you at the top of Google for keywords which no one is using? Or are you ranking for keywords which are actually valuable?

Most of the best SEOs don't work based on results. They charge a monthly fee, which they can back up with a portfolio of demonstrable results. And they usually charge more than 1BTC as well.

If you've invested 30BTC into this project of yours, you may want to take a step back and reevaluate your business plan. That's a lot of dough without seeing any results. I don't mean pull the plug altogether, but you may need to pivot your strategy to take it in a more profitable direction.

If you want to chat more about it, drop me a line on skype @brade_csm.

Check out http://www.bitcoinstarter.com  if you want to attempt to crowdfund it

Love what you are doing!

It's closed source so I don't think many people would crowdfund that  Wink
I really like your website also! btw

SEO is very difficult.

I hope you are paying this person based on results, and not in advance.

He said he could rank us number one on Google in two months for 1 BTC. I'm paying for results (using escrow)

Additional info:

The website is written in CakePHP/MySQL

For a partnership, I'd be willing to split the profits 50|50 if someone could help my website take off. I also need some serious marketing done right now. For the keyword "bitcoin auctions" I'm only ranked at 169 on Google while CryptoThrift still holds the number one place. I need someone excellent with security I don't want to get hacked like bitmit. Even cryptothrift got hacked just this past Sunday and had 15 BTC stolen

I'm looking for a bitcoin expert to help me with my website (promoting it, fixing up code etc. ) I'm attempting to start an auction website to compete with CryptoThrift by offering far lower fees. I've spent about 30 BTC on this project so far, mainly paying programmers to code for me. (my coding skills are very limited, but attempting to learn) I've hired someone to do SEO work but the number of visitors I'm getting is still very low
