I ended up installing PDF-XChange Editor. There is both a free and paid version. It is possible to do basic editing of the text but not much else. Any movement of the text creates a signature badge on every page... those bastards Grin

AFAIK LibreOffice allows you to edit PDFs; I only use LibreOffice for typing things up occasionally because I don't want to pirate software and I don't want to pay the full price for Acrobat. From what I've heard, Xodo PDF reader (click for link) works pretty well too, but I've never used it and AFAIK the application is only available to install on the Windows store. Plenty more alternative PDF editors are listed on Reddit as well.

You can try PDF-XChange Editor
but don't ask for illegal links on this forum please

Software you mentioned you can find on respective official websites
Or you can use torrent to search and download the software too
Very bad advice... One of the most common ways of getting malware into your computer is through torrents

I would advise him to:

1. Uninstall the existing copy with all the associate files and the restart the computer.

2. Download a fresh copy of the file and then perform an installation when the internet is off

3. Now you have to block acrobat's background update process which usually checks if the trial period has expired. Press Win + R buttons and then type in "msconfig" and press enter button

4. Go to the services tab and look for "adobe acrobat update" and then uncheck it

5. Click on apply and Ok

6. Block acrobat in the Windows firewall options too

7.  Restart your computer and check it out even with internet on... I hope it helps  Wink

There's a free trial that you can use through the direct website of adobe acrobat pro dc[1]. Though after using it, you can decide to continue and pay the monthly or simply stop its usage.

Hi everyone.

I used Foxit Phantom PDF for a long time and suddenly it no longer allows me to edit any text in PDF files.
I tried reinstalling but I keep getting an error message that my trial version has expired (was never there before).

Can someone who uses it suggest where I can download a clean version of either Foxit Phantom PDF or Adobe Acrobat PRO?
