Have you try install mycelium app? I don't know if will work but you should try install it from google play.

It won't work. According to Google Play, Mycelium requires at least Android 4.4.

What version of android has your phone have now? I will search for you a wallet if exist any that working on your phone just let me know what version of android is running.

Samsung Galaxy S2 received an official update to Android 4.1. Most wallets require at least Android 4.2 or 4.4. That's why we recommended OP to install a custom ROM. He will also benefit from up-to-date security patches.

Even if my phone will only serve as a wallet without installing any other applications? Thanks for your advice.
If that is the case... then I would advise that you install LineageOS: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/i9100/install

LineageOS 14.1 is essentially a customised version of Android 7.1.2 (Nougat). So, you'll be able to run almost any of the Android Wallets. Personally, I would suggest either Electrum or Mycelium, but it'll come down to your personal preference.

The OS itself is fairly robust and well tested... there are a LOT of diehard S2 fans... I used to be the S2 device mantainer for a custom ROM (SlimROM). The hardware itself should be capable of running the OS and the wallet app without too much trouble.

Looking at the recent changes, they're attempting to keep it somewhat up-to-date security wise with the 20181205 security patches.

Why would you use such an old device? I am quite sure there are many exploits from which you can suffer.

Finding and installing an older version of a wallet app is really not a recommended thing to do and they usually remove their availability once the updated version arrives. I wouldn't personally be downloading .apk files not coming from the Google Playstore itself not unless I know that I will be downloading the .apk file in an official website of the wallet itself. Installing wallet apps classified as an unknown source by Android is really a dangerous thing to do as you don't know if the wallet is compromised or not. If I were you I would just buy a cheap but capable phone for the latest apps so I wouldn't be worried about anything being stolen from my wallet. For me the risk isn't really worth it especially if you will be holding large quantities of cryptocurrencies in your Galaxy S2

Check your coin privilege
Where are you grabbing the apk files though? taking them from third-party websites could be the worst idea ever. If you're taking them from Google play, you'll get the latest version and that probably won't be much help for you.

I remembered this website when you mentioned this, I had this same issue once except it was with a different type of apk, I found this website :

https://apkpure.com/coinomi-wallet-bitcoin-ethereum-altcoins-tokens/com.coinomi.wallet/versions

They share hashes of the signature and file shasum.

So to OP, if you're paranoid (you should be) :

1. Download the apk
2. If you're on a windows install Java Development Kit.
(On linux just type jarsigner, and you'll see the packages you need to download)
3. In the console run "jarsigner -verify -verbose -certs your_application.apk"
4. Verify if the apk file is genuine.

A signed APK will show you information about the package owner, and all information about the android package that should match the same information on the latest version of the apk.

Change to Custom Rom of your samsung S2 to Lollipop https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/rom-cyanogenmod-12-t2955551
All tutorials are there to be followed and after that install Electrum apk and it should work.

https://bit.ly/387FXHi lightning theory
The older versions of electrum (3.0.5 and below should be able to run still - they can on my 4.0.1 device I think)...

Andreas shildbach's wallet as an older version is also quite nice, I like the edge it has with being able to connect to regular bitcoin nodes.

[I have the APKs of both if you want them].

I presume OP has been using Electrum's page of previous releases:
https://download.electrum.org/

At least I hope so. OP, if you haven't checked the APKs from the link above yet, do so. If you've tried an APK from a third-party website... consider wiping your device and doing a factory reset before installing a new wallet.

Mycelium should work in Samsung S2 according to this post and If you check few posts above, you can see that someone got it to work on Samsung galaxy using Android Cyanogen.

That is post is already 4 years old though and as of today Mycelium only supports Android 4.4 and up:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycelium.wallet

(at least officially, maybe you can still get it to work with older Android versions).

As far as I know, you can upgrade Android on your phone to version 4.1. Most wallets require at least Android 4.2. According to Google Play, Coinomi Wallet should work for you. You could also try Samourai Wallet but I have no idea whether it's going to work for you. Why would you use such an old device? I am quite sure there are many exploits from which you can suffer.

Edit: It looks like Samourai Wallet requires Android 5.0. You can also consider installing a custom ROM for your device. I guess that there are plenty of them available since the S2 model was quite popular.
