GPU mining can still be profitable if you do it right. I keep my rigs powered off 90% of the time. I turn them on and mine new coins when they are launched.

Yes , that can be done also but very few good coins are released these days and chances of finding such coins is also a matter of luck.

I haven't seen any profitable coins since a few days ago. Most of the new coins turned out to be scams or their exchange price are too low. Can you mention any new profitable coin?

New Algorithm is already out which is asic resistant for at least 1-2 years. #NeoScrypt

Developed by #FTC and #PXC will be adopted by #ORB and #UFO more to come

PXC is already live with #NeoScrypt but GPUminers is still in the works.

Keep your GPUs.

I haven't heard anything about NeoScrypt yet (except reb0rn21's post). Do others recommend it?

I have sold most of my GPUs and don't see any reason to invest in GPU farm , so do your market reasearch before investing money as ROI margin is very low.

I am on the edge selling my own rigs also, but what allways stops me is the fact that i almost did that in november last year.

Deciding not to sell turned out to be one of the best decisions ever.
Guess we will see in a few months how it will turn out.

@OP  i would advise you not to invest, atleast until we see if the prices will continue to go down.

Monero is still pretty profitable "IF" you have cheap electricity - otherwise you pay more for electricity than you earn. Everything else is pretty much not profitable. I have no idea how some coins get their hashpower from, when you see how incredible unprofitable they are.

But i would advice you not to invest in a GPU farm. At least wait till the new gpu generation is released in a month. The new Maxwell GPUs might be really fast and electricity efficient.

My advice is: Wait till the new generation gets released. Buy ~2 good and fast cards and make yourself a nice gaming pc with a good 4core+hyperthreading cpu.(Broadwell release also at the end of this year/beginning of next year with 16 nm manufactoring process)

Monero is also a great cpu mining coin if you have a good cpu.

With this gaming rig you have a nice base for future games and you can mine at the same time. Buying GPU's just for mining is just really not worth it, i think you will never see ROI - unless bitcoin price explodes in the near future.

Personally, i am selling my last few GPUs and i am buying bitcoins/monero with the money.

i think gpu mining is kinda dead now.. just wait for new software to come out and mining with gpu will become profitable again.. and a lot of the coins are taking a big nose dive in prices.. i wouldn't recommend at this point in time!

If you have free electricity that might be a good option, otherwise not.

Hello, i am thinking of setting a gpu farm for scrypt-n or x11 or any other coins. Is it still profitable? Which would u recommend?

Most gpu farm right now regretted investing into GPU farm, if you have a choice please reconsider. Calculate the difficulty increment, calculate your electricity and you will know that it is a really bad choice...

Advice do some serious ROI calculations including electricity and heat removal.  With GPU's sadly it is dead for most on mining.  I moved on to asics i can do them profitably but GPU's are hard to profit now days if not impossible for most.

The only thing I can say is that I want to sell some of my GPUs, just waste of electricity, but keep some of them, maybe it become profitable in the future.
