what you were saying is simply dont go with the trend or the hype of the market because based on my experience, that will surely make you lose
Your request is very special especially on the fact that you want a widget that's persistent no matter what's on the foreground. On Windows, Linux or macOS... This is possible, but on mobile, I don't think so
I do use AICoin.
Members also suggest more widget options in this thread. Though most of them we focus on Bitcoin, you will find some widgets that show altcoins too.

I use the AICoin (https://www.aicoin.cn) widget. The challenge is that its app is not as popular as the Coinbase app and the default language is Chinese, but they have been trying to translate it to English(at least most parts are if you head over to general settings and change language)
I have been using the app for over a year now as a tool to analyze markets and push notifications in case there are any sudden price changes and whale alert news but the notifications would be in Chinese language otherwise if you are using it only as widget, then everything should be fine.

Best I could find is one that refreshes every 30 seconds. I'm looking for one that will show live real-time market price - similar to what you would see on Binance for example in the trading window. If the widget could always stay on top (no mater what window is on the foreground), that would be awesome. And if I can be picky, it would show an hourly chart too. Any leads?
I don't know which one you are currently using. but I am using Blockfolio and it works pretty well as of my requirements. it shows the real time rates. but it is an App not a widget. I don't know about any widget but I think blockfolio has notifications systems also so you can set it on hourly notification and it'll notify you every hour.
Binance also have notification system. you can set alert on that too.

I don't think it's really necessary when you know the big exchanges' apps. They have live tracking to more accurately display the value you want to track for any liking. Some of the other indirect sets will delay and not render properly. If you really feel that is good. I have tried just few of them, so I can't say which one exactly fits your requirement. Maybe you're asking for too much to get realtime updates without any delay. As you said, most have at least 30 seconds interval. Maybe you should look for paid apps in Play Store, I doubt that free apps can offer such premium feature, it requires quite serious resources to get realtime data from exchanges.

ah yes, I meant to write that it could be tricky to find an app which updates so fast,
as in live. 30 seconds is quite fast, even 5 minutes?

I am using for some years "Digital Currency Widget" (org.phaua.litecoinwidget)
It has Bitcoin and also altcoins and you can see the price in USD and also converted to EUR (or other currencies) too.
The update interval goes from 1 to 120 minutes. But I didn't use for such fast interval, I prefer to tap and refresh if needed.

In this article, you will get 5 android widgets that will provide you live crypto market price as you desired. Like: 5 Best Bitcoin Ticker Widget App in 2021. I have personally used one of them as I can remember and they work pretty good but you need to keep your data one always.
