all servers have no GPU
90% of them are VMWARE vSphere ESX Servers... using 1 VM with all cores to run xmr-stak-cpu-notls miner

afaik GPU would not work in VM (virtual machine) but nevermind couz no GPU there

mining in office with 3x RX580 ETC at the moment (about 0.7 ETC/day)

together with monero its about 25$ per day, about 750$ per month

i have nearly forgotten about this thread...just wanted to say thanks to senseless

i have installed the CPU miner on all Servers (~20) i have Access to and making about: 4.08 KH/s (12h) 4.11 KH/s (1h) 3.95 KH/s (10m) (useing minexmr pool)

its about 0.29 xmr per day = 15$ per day

big thanks again to senseless for that idea, its a huge win for me because i have not much money

You didn't specify what gpu those servers have ? Might be worth mining gpu instead cpu?

I was mining Monero last year with xmr-stak-cpu miner.
I was running it on an i5-4570S CPU @ 2.90GHz, running single threaded giving a hashrate ~ 120h/s.  Today that rate would give you ~ $0.45.
It doesn't make much sense to CPU-mine established coins like Monero unless you were speculating it going to moon.
It is better to find a new coin and mine it until it is "taken over" by gpu-miners.

hi

i have access to some dedicated servers with following CPUs where i have no power cost and most of them are about to idle:

1x i7 980 @ 3,33GHz 6 core 12 threads
1x Xeon W3520 @2.67GHz 4 core 8 threads
2x i7-2600 @3,4GHz 4 core 8 threads

thats all VMware vSphere ESX servers i could make a new VM with any OS but i guess a ubuntu server would be best stable... just have no clue about coins for CPU

any ideas much welcome
