I'm a member of FoundersCard and we get discounts on most airlines:

Quote
Quantas:
FoundersCard Members up to 20% off travel between US, Australia, and New Zealand and travel originating in the UK to Australia. Discounts are available on most classes of service.

I have to call my rep directly with my itinerary and it takes 24 hours for her to get me flight options.

I'd be more than happy to see what prices I can get for him

Ill put you two in touch.

It's a reasonably priced leg, but only going one-way might add a little.

Travelling to Wellington limits the choice of a airlines (Qantas/AirNZ/PacificBlue).  PacificBlue is part of Virgin have trans-tasman flights, so do they have an option to use some points for that piece too?  A sale flight might cost $149, but a normal fare $449.  They need to be choosy.

I think he can find one for about 250gbp before tax. Somewhere in that range.

!! GBP250 is a lot.  I did a quick search and the 149 price would be less than GBP100.  I just threw it into http://www.virginaustralia.com/nz/en/

So a weird request, but here we go.

A fellow miner I know in London is needing to relocate to New Zealand to be with his wife and children. Because a move like this is costly, hes trying to cut down cost on travel. Currently the London to Sydney portion of the trip can be paid with his Virgin miles and he will have to cover £305.89 est for that part.
What he is looking for is a cheap flight, voucher, something from Sydney to Wellington. Quantas has a direct flight so that would be the best option as the first leg of the journey is also a 21 hour flight. If you have something good to offer, I can put you two in touch.
Thanks for looking.

EDIT: Will be traveling on or after the 30th of april.
