Their official app would be the safest to use imo (wallet plus dex). Waves released a new desktop app in beta early this month, see their blog here. You can go directly in their website : https://wavesplatform.com/ to download the client and for more accurate information about how it works.

I am using chrome app for waves wallet.
maybe you can also use. seems more simple. and can for some other coin wallet.
