More trends and extensive descriptions can be found in chapter 1.

Single digit numbers should be written out.

Example:

Quote
More trends and extensive descriptions can be found in chapter one.

Only if you are referring to a quantity or value.  Internal document references such as tables, graphs, chapters, appendicies, etc. the number itself is allowable/preferable.  For example, you would not write "chapters nine and 10".

Fixed some grammar, punctuation, and spelling (US English) without changing the overall structure of your sentences.

This looks like a summary of your entire thesis, correct?  In which case we call this an "Executive Summary".

Avoid contractions and abbreviations in professional writing.

Management Summary

This thesis is the work of the student as part of his study. This thesis is the final assignment and should be viewed as a culmination of the student’s studies, written in order to accomplish his goal of graduating.

The visitors to the Sand Sculpture Festival in Oss were interviewed from April through October, 2014 in order to answer the following question:

In which way can Global Pow Wow make use of online marketing effectively to accomplish the goal of increasing the turnover by selling tickets online?

In order to get a detailed answer to this question, several sub-questions needed to be answered first:
•   What elements does online marketing consists of?
•   What is the target group of the Sand Sculpture Festival?
•   How is the organization currently utilizing online and offline marketing?
•   What does a favorable marketing communication mix for the Sand Sculpture Festival look like?
•   What are the recent trends and developments in the event industry?
•   What kind of marketing methods can be utilized effectively to stimulate the selling of online tickets?

Research Methods

Various methods, including desk research, interviews, observation and polls, were employed in order to find appropriate answers to the sub-questions. This thesis mainly involves desk research, as online marketing is particularly a theoretical subject. Field research was conducted to find a way to apply a well balanced strategy to the correct target group.

Several marketing models were also applied. Firstly, the researcher used the SDP-model to obtain a clear image of the optimal target group as well as determining how to reach it. A second model helped the researcher to shape an effective online vision for the organization where the model is designed to define clear points of action to fulfill the vision. Lastly, the marketing communication mix helped the researcher to define communication activities which can help the organization increase turnover. Detailed results and discussion can be found in chapter 5.

Results

The research gives the reader a clear definition of what online marketing is and how to apply it effectively. Online marketing is a collective term for the management process that aims to anticipate and fulfill the needs and wishes of people by conducting online marketing activities such as operating a good website and making effective use of social media and mobile marketing.

Research shows that the Sand Sculpture Festival has a very versatile target group with different motivations for visiting the event. Potential visitors are prepared to travel great distances to attend the event which should motivate the organization to have a broader perspective on marketing activities.

The researcher also investigated the current marketing activities of the organization. The company has a strong offline marketing presence, but lacks a comparable online communication plan.  The organization has a satisfactory website and utilizes social media, but there additional underutilized avenues to pursue, such as mobile marketing applications and other social media platforms.

The event industry is adapting quickly to new trends and developments. In the opinion of the researcher, it is important not to get left behind. It is suggested that the following online marketing activities be considered: Mobile applications for events; crowd source funding for projects; and mobile marketing. In order to provided experiences that the target audience will find the most satisfying, the organization should make greater use of social media by expanding to multiple platforms. More trends and supporting narrative can be found in chapter 1.

Recommendations

The organization has a website and utilizes social media, but it should also broaden its perspective on making use of these tools. Online marketing should be made up from different elements such as mobile marketing, online advertising, brand awareness, and brand positioning; increasing the turnover should not be the only focus. It is recommended to look at the trends and developments in the event industry and chose appropriate marketing solutions accordingly.
