We would not want to hold any BTC; just offer it as a convenience to customers.

I read on one post that there's a 25% exchange fee. Is this correct?

That's totally up to you if you wants to hold or not you can withdraw at any time like end of the day whatever and regarding pricing you have follow their different plans.,
My suggestion is just go through their web links they both have "How it works" section you'll gain more info from that.

https://bitpay.com/pricing
https://coinbase.com/docs/merchant_tools/payouts

this looks like it has everything we'll need to make an initial decision.

Take a look at bitpay.com & coinbase.com, these two are leading companies for new startups.

It's really no use to cash out immediatly if u guys start accepting BTC. Also u might ending up with big losses if u sell at the wrong time.

I'm looking into Bitcoin to see if we should accept it where we work. The odds are we will not embrace it, but I've been given the greenlight to look into it and from reading through the posts I'm finding that people seem to be pretty honest, and I'll be able to hear the good and the bad.

If we accept Bitcoin we'll cash it out as soon as we get it. No sense in adding currency specualtion to our line of work.

Is there a charge for the conversion? Can someone tell me (or direct me) to the basics of doing business as a company that accepts Bitcoin?

Thanks
