About 8 hours of data was lost (anything after about Jan 21 21:44 UTC).

I've lost ~5 post + 1 thread I started is gone.

But good to see forum is back.

A relief to see that the damage wasn't too bad.  Smiley

Can you salvage any of the lost data though? No backups of the disks at all?

Forum was restored from a daily backup.

See https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/recent-downtime-and-data-loss-932315 for technical details.

Apparently a pair of SSD died of old age, and/or might be the RAID controller lost its marbles. I have personally seen more RAID arrays die because of the RAID controller (corrupting data, not reporting errors, etc.), than because of multiple disk failures, so that would not be surprising.

Wrong link. That goes to hacked accounts recovery. Should be https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/recent-downtime-and-data-loss-932315 I didn't lose any post, but anything posted after 21 Jan 21:44 UTC was lost. But they can try to recover it if it's important and you remember a few keywords.

It was announced earlier today when they said they had disk failure, that some posts might be lost

We can rebuild them, we have the blockchain technology

Besides most of us probably regret a good bit of everything we type on here, so we get a do-over this once

Don't know if some posts are missing or not, maybe users will report if they have something important missing. But nevertheless, it's good to be back, yesterday was boring and I actually missed bitcointalk.  Embarrassed
