From the Artbyte email list today:

------------------

"For the last few weeks ArtByte has been in a battle against a small group of miners trying to block SegWit activation.

Now over 80% of the miners have signaled for SegWit acceptance. Now that 80% consensus has been reached, SegWit should officially activate in two days.

This is great news for artists! SegWit opens the door to new technologies solving a major concern for artists of all types: fair income distribution for creative rights holders. This includes musicians, writers, film makers, dancers, painters, photographers, actors, etc.

As a digital currency, ArtByte also gains the capability for Atomic swaps (direct transactions between ArtByte and other cryptocurrencies, without going through an exchange). This will make it much easier for our users to trade ArtByte."
