The guy was clearly not here for Bitcoin or to be part of a crypto community. All he did was post links to his SMS spamming service and thankfully that has now been stopped by the mods. Some people deserve a second chance, but this time the mods made the correct decision.

but newbie may not know about it, so they create a new topic. And I think it is not a very serious crime to lead to the ban. Is this ban really worth it?
Giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming that they are a newbie, you clearly know that they haven't read the rules. If they have read the rules, then they have broken them willingly and thus deserve the ban. If they haven't read the rules, then they're probably going to come back with another account, evade the ban, and then break the rules all over again.

Plus...

it had only 11 posts there

They probably got the message when all their posts were removed.

Perhaps this time, they'll read the rules. Not like the whole "no ban evading" has stopped anyone on the forum. Roll Eyes

But I don't understand why he's banned, I mean I don't think posting the same content over and over everyday will lead to being banned forever.
Usually, people will bump their topic by post, but newbie may not know about it, so they create a new topic. And I think it is not a very serious crime to lead to the ban. Is this ban really worth it?
Any comments, please!
There should be no spamming, be it self spamming or spamming other peoples posts. This is self spamming, that will be the reason he is banned. Why will someone be posting the same contents daily, this is absolutely wrong.

Bitcoin needs you!
I reported some of his posts as they were duplicates - really gets my OCD going  Smiley
This member does the same thing too !

I see a lot of spammers with duplicate posts, but slightly different subject headers - still duplicate posts and deserve deletion and possible ban if it is incessant in my opinion .

Yes, it is a big deal with other guys who are similar to him. Previously, I only had about 10-15 emails in my inbox (from more section) when I woke up, and most of them were important to see. But recently, it's almost 40 emails in my inbox every time I wake up  Roll Eyes It increased significantly, but the content became tedious by those guys  Roll Eyes

When you enable emails, do they also mention if you get quoted, or just the standard "There are new replies to thread X"?

Good thing he can take a rest now.
But many other guys are still there  Roll Eyes
other than spamming the same thing the mods probably put into the account that irishgeoff has bee advertising(spamming) his service on other service announcements is against forum rules.

the mods might have even given him temp bans, but he probably didn't care and continued spamming.
Well, I have not checked his deleted posts before  Cheesy yesterday, when I looked at his profile, it had only 11 posts there, I thought it was all he wrote and it could be the first offense  Cheesy And it would be bad if someone was banned for the first time, right? But it seems he violated deliberately the rules despite undergoing a ban  Roll Eyes Now, I believe the ban is deserved  Cheesy Mod deleted all his topic, and my posts were deleted  Cheesy

Bumping a thread is totally different from making multiple posts with similar content. I am sure his account was nuked on grounds of spamming
This was a case of pure spamming: http://loyce.club/archive/members/277/2777313.html The mods might have even given him temp bans, but he probably didn't care and continued spamming.

I checked on BPIP and it seems that it has been banned forever  Cheesy
Yesterday, I had a few comments on one of his topics in the service section. But today, those posts have been deleted without any notice, I'm quite curious so I checked his profile and it seems he was banned.
My curiosity, I looked at his profile yesterday and found that he posted a lot of different topics but their content was similar. I have reported those topics to moderator. But I don't understand why he's banned, I mean I don't think posting the same content over and over everyday will lead to being banned forever.
