Im sorry to ask this but Im just new to this forum and learning things yet.  Based on what you have dicsussed about looq,  and find so much facts that ots a scam,  arn't  there any sanctions given to the poster of that campaign?  Im kind of worried because I might fall into these traps one of these days.  There should be consequences right away if posts like that is found to be scam or cannot provide valid proof that they are not.

There are no consequences, this is basic ico scam, with anonymous people pretenting to be someone else. And there haveen numerous of these: google "ico scams"

I want to warn you guys. DO BACKGROUND CHECKS Save yourself the agony of losing your money. Sign up for a Linkedin account DO BACKGROUND CHECKS.

I am surprised that none of you do background checks Huh Rohan Jusama
To work for Valve (steam) as a developer is a big deal. Valve is a top tier developer. Unity builds commercial game engines. You're a big deal if have worked for valve / unity. Trust me I know what I'm talking about when I say top-tier. I mean really Top Tier.

If you have claimed to work for Valve. Legit devs will look you up, you can bet your money on it.  We wanna know you what you do.
If you have worked for valve, you would show that off on linkedin.
No records found No profile... nothing. Every legit game developer who works in the industry has a linkedin profile. The game industry is one of the most competitive industries on the planet. Getting your foot on the door without recommendations and connections. Highly Unlikely.
Claiming to have worked for Valve..... IMPOSSIBLE. Valve hires Seniors only, that is a known fact among game developers.

Second check
Which games have you worked on?
Rohan Jusama No credits on mobygames.... what a surprise.

Google :
Rohan Jusama GDC
Rohan Jusama Gamasutra

No records....

Conclusion : This man doesn't exist in the real world.

It's surprising how the site is similar to karbon.io which is confirmed to be a scam.
I bet that the authors are the same.

Same bounty counter. No contact data, no veryfiable profiles. No company info.
No nothing.

And so I thought this project is real. I'm glad I click the link you posted. I even click that etherscan.io link and found that the account has a zero balance with 448 transactions. Is it possible?

People are still sending ETH to the address, it's so shocking how people can be so dumb to just send their money into something like this.

Yes indeed many red flags there, it's pretty simple when you see it's an ICO consider it a SCAM unless you can finds some solid facts that it isn't.

Just saw the announcement and yes it mostly a scam, too many redflags according to me.

-RUSHING ICO (bonus 50%) whereas no annoucement has been made before.

-Citation of Blizzard CEO about looq but no links provided + nothing found on google.

-Oldest reddit post is around 1 week old but 1500 people registered (fake accounts)

-22 ether raised in 5 days for a company cited by Blizzard CEO ?

-Link to Medium in the website but no article found then / no activity

And the list goes on...

Bear in mind that when you send ether to this crowdsale you have to consider it lost.

INTRO:
I think the recent announcement thread of the project "Looq" is a scam. I have many reasons for this and will share them below for open discussion regarding this.

PROJECT:
Thread link: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annico-looq-decentralized-virtual-reality-platform-75-bonus-active-2069855
Original Poster: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/rwessels-117132

DETAILS:
Claims the project has partnerships with the following:

Yet there is no confirmation from either companies on this claim. Im pretty much certain this is a fraudulent attempt to draw in more users.

-
The start date of the ICO was on August 5th. If this was the case, that those companies were genuine partners, there would be much more ETH contributed already than the amount shown below:
Looq ETH address:

https://etherscan.io/address/0x5b5750f5a140f4780ef59e33597e073d4a8d3adb

-
There seems to be the same poster frequently bumping the thread to the top of the page, then deleting his posts after someone comments. Shown below:

I have tried to post many times on the thread to say this could possibly a scam, however, the OP has made the thread moderated and keeps deleting my posts.
There is no Twitter information either, to confirm the devs are real or on board with the project advertised.

PLEASE DON'T GET SCAMMED AND TAKE CAUTION.

If this is proven not to be a scam, I will delete this thread, until then, I will keep it open!
