Next time I would recommend using Authy. It works on multiple devices at the same time and easy to restore (including all accounts!).

yup. noting the key is the only thing you can do at your end. i've had a lot of trouble with authenticator over the years, maybe it's something to do with my phone not keeping time or something, so i don't use it any more. i always felt a little paranoid using it.

You would have a backup key given when you started to activate the two factor authentication. It is recommended to print that so if ever you need to reset it, you have the keys to that.

Just wait for approval also.

 Huh I lost my access to google authenticator codes (I factory reset my phone - stupid me  Embarrassed ) so here I am, waiting for the approval for 2FA reset on all my accounts with codes... Is there a way to backup the codes (cloud)?
