As a user of bitcoin I can say that I never lose instead profit came. This is because I want to make sure that I will earn money using bitcoin because of signature campaign instead of trading or investing. Since the price is volatile, if I choose to invest or to trade I can't work properly in this market, this is because of price that affects in emotions like greediness and panicking, for me I am contented on what I get from my hardship.

Wow! It is indeed painful for early investors, specially when you got it when it was 18-20k$. But for thise who would still want to give a try, i guess now is the best time for them to buy. Who knows, maybe by summer bitcoin price is going to kick back again. Anyway, those who know bitcoin’s behavior for long should know how to react also.

The loyal bitcoin to new users. You will not lose your money. Your profit will be later. After a sharp drop in prices you gain experience. Now you will know what coins lie underfoot. To make cryptocurrencies need to be constantly learning and follow the news. This is a great work. Many beginners think that in order to become a millionaire enough to buy some coins. Now you know that's not true. Be patient and the price of bitcoin will rise.

Today Bitcoin differs for Bitcoin 2016 and even BTC 2017. Now you will not get such a high return, but still it is profitable.

You can not get a proper return if you don't have a lot of hold on your wallet, I really think you will not feel the change in bitcoins value, And right now we can see that bitcoin is not budging an inch to the $11,000 and $10,000 mark value and this is an opportunity to buy and stock for more bitcoin so when the price had pump and had another bull run you will profit from the said rise.

22 December 2017 was really a bad day for all right?
But seems all was okay for old players with big holdings didn't matter much at all, well I have heard people saying that it didn't effect them much. But what about new players? I was one of the new investor months back and im still recovering lol... well anyone here wanna share your grief? anyone here in big loss?

You should ask the old players all they have passed through in the past with all the swing highs and lows. Remember the 2013 Gox saga? And so many other things that have happened that they still decided to keep holding? They have passed through so much than you can imagine, more than what any new investor is experiencing now. At the end, HODL! That is exactly what worked for them at the end, init?

I don't really have a big loss with bitcoin, I am still in profit even if bitcoin price drops for almost 50%. I am still hoping bitcoin will recover this year and will make another ATH's. All of us wants ATH's, but after we experience new ATH's a lot of big investors selling their bitcoin already to gain profit for their assurance maybe that is also why bitcoin price are dropping after ATH's.

I did not sell my Bitcoins when the crypto price reached its maximum. However, I do not think it is a loss as I bought BTC when it was under $5 thousand. Waiting for its growth.

Well it was not really easy at the tail end of 2017 particularly some of the newly investment that I made within that period. Although, there were some huge profit which I made from some of the bitcoin I was holding since when the market value of bitcoin was around $7,000 to $8,000 and I sold them when bitcoin value was around $16,000 to $17,000 and bought some within that period with another capital but up till am still yet to return to profit.

Op sorry for your lose but this is part of trading and no one can actually separate this! Investment into bitcoin entail some risk and you must understand that bitcoin is a game of professiinality, you can only make money or profit when you buy coin at the right time and loss if you buy and sell at the wrong time. I have a friend that lose heavely because he buy at $18,000 and he sold some weeks ago.

Bitcoin often decreases in prices, and so on December 22, many people have suffered because of this, Bitcoin prices will decrease as it decreases,december22 that is realy bad day in our countries all bitcoin earner man and women.

Yes December 22 is the time bitcoin price starting to drop, almost all of us think that bitcoin will rise up again this year but it's not happening. I know the year is just started but there's no definite signs that bitcoin will recover base on its growth bar, but I continue hoping that in the next months bitcoin will start its comeback from the downfall together with us who patiently holding bitcoins. Bitcoin faces many of these situation before and bitcoin surpass all of them, so the best thing to do right now is to keep our bitcoins so when the time comes all of us will have a good profit.

We should believe the bitcoin , because it has good potential. So it will survive for long.Bitcoin have very long road to travel.Just think about the price of bitcoin during Last year August. At that time the price of bitcoin is around 2500$,now it's 11,000$.Just think this value is 5 times of August month price. So still we are in upper hand.

Its okay for those who invested when bitcoin is below $8,000 so it doesn't really matter if bitcoin is on a certain point on that date. I don't consider myself in a loss now although I can barely say that I did some before but on these days I'm well recovered so those losses from the past where just a plain memories and it taught me a lot of things that I shouldn't panic and just keep on HODLIN.

That's good, you've gain profit from bitcoin. Hopefully it will rise this year or maybe earlier this year. Some of us are doubting now bitcoin, I heard a lot of "what if's". Yeah we really don't know when it will rise up again but if all of us will be patient and if new investors will come, I think for sure it will rise up again this year just like some other altcoins.

It will only affect the new investors and the people who bought the bitcoin at high value. Those who are early adopters and have invested initially, won't be affected due to this price fall as they are already in profit. I am also holding few bitcoins from last 2 years and i am still in a profit.

I bought when the price was $17000

Make sure to hold the coins for longer time, price will be increased in the coming months so just hold on.

If you just bought bitcoin today, don't expect to get profit next week, because that is not gonna happen. If you really want to make some profit then try to control your emotion and hold for it. Bitcoin is great for long term goal and you will surely not regret this just like those who believe years ago.

Lucky those people who believe on bitcoin years ago and keep on holding because they are really not affected by the corrections right now, in fact they are still investing for sure, bitcoin can go higher this year expect it.

I got some btc in November 2017 when it was in the $7k range. Then got some more in December when it was in the $12k range. So I made profits from the 11/2017 buys but loss profits on the 12/2017 buys.

Holding bitcoin is the best option for gaining long term profit. Dont do day trading for small gains in order to boost your balance. Loss is not real if trader doesn't decide to cash out the position.  Traders should ignore the emotional condition of markets and stick to rules of plan. So know the rules and play smart  Wink

Based on my experience that I hold a large amount of bitcoin currency and it was a big loss to me in the sudden drop in bitcoin prices, so I sold my bitcoin immediately to prevent the big loss. You're wrong if you think that the old players here haven't affected so much by sudden fall dip, because if your hold is big enough you will lose too much.

We are ofcourse in aiming to win and get profit in every trading we do. Some had bought bitcoin at an expensive rate then suddenly this month of january price has drops that we didnt expect to happen. If we got panic and sell everything we might loss at all of our investment. Hence, might as well that we should take risks because price of bitcoin will always recover.

well i lost a lot when i was starting my journey back then,
invested for more than $2000 as a start and lose it all in a few months later because of my foolishness.
but i never gave up,
i learned from my mistake, how about sad ?,yes,i felt so sad back then when i spent/lost it all.
but it did not last long because as a trader i need to maintain my head and my emotion.
the biggest problem when we're trading cryptocurrency is emotion.
we need to control it fully because crypto is a whole new level of 'asset'(compared to others).
its price can go down 100% from its average price tomorrow but at the same time it can go up 100% from its average price tomorrow.

i won't forget that and it would be my history,
even though i lost it,i did not regret it.because i learned something from it.

Most of the players here started out with bitcoin when the price was way below thousand dollars and it does not even matter how the market reacts now, unless and until the market goes back to the old levels ,there is no panic from my side as i have made a good profit with it and sold some coins for me to take care of my business even if i can take some risks here and there. Your grief, and my grief are very different. You may call it, my sadness is "planned sadness" or "planned folly" it's all up to you. What is clear, even though it is disadvantageous and sad, but ultimately I feel happy because my family's economy to be good.

Three days ago, my family's economy was in trouble, I was forced to sell some of my BTC, because it was the only way to earn money, I knew very well what would happen if I sold BTC at that time. That I would experience loss. Apparently true, I suffered losses almost reached 41% - 43%. I think that's my biggest loss.

It further rose but i was happy i made some profit!

The logic of 'it's okay for new guys because they got in earlier' is both correct and incorrect at the same time. Yes they are better off because they're still in huge profit but that doesn't mean that they are different to everyone else, they've still lost 50% (or so) of there potential all time high and that will hurt them just as it hurts anyone else. The only difference is they've probably been there before, time and time again, and so are better equipped to deal with the highs and lows.

no mate indeed based on my experience If you constantly hold a bigger amount while the price is decreasing there's a tend that you will lose a big profits also maybe 10% of your profits . Like what happened to my profits when i didn't noticed the fall dip. So i think Much better to sell right away when its dumping to avoid huge lose and buy back to multiply your profits.

well, I bought when the price was $17,000, I thought with so much good news we would be in the $25000 or even $30,000... but this fall caught me by surprise, I'm not looking at the losses because if I hold for long term, something like two years. then I will recover and still make a profit. investing in the crypto is need to be very calm and patience.

Ouch. This is why you dollar cost average, people. If you buy with a one-off lump sum you can accidentally get the timing wrong.

Your options are either to hold and hope it goes to above $17,000, or invest some more at around $10,000, which lowers your total average buying price and means you are in profit at around $13,500.

I think this decline will last long enough and will go back up as before even more so if you are a good holder then hold it so as not to lose, and just share tips how to overcome your losses is a short-term investment strategy in some altcoin like ethereum , I also suffered huge losses but at least I can cover it with this strategy
hopefully this is useful

Listen, dude
although the price of the accident is so great but nobody will admit they feel the loss.
Because basically people can still wait and hold until the price returns to normal. lol  Cheesy
I personally do not feel any loss, I just consider it a process of travel from bitcoin. Tomorrow or the next day who knows bitcoin back toward the moon.

BTC is a game of patience and courage. It fluctuates ups and down several times.People who have courage and patience and can hold their investment for a long time definitely can earn huge reward from their investments in BTC.High risk and reward go side by side.BTC is not good for shortcut investor because it needs some time to go higher and higher. In a nutshell i can say that its not good for short term because it required some time to go higher and higher and can be helpful and more rewarding for those who hold it for long time and wait for pump up time..
for sure those most who have patience and efforts will earn much profit after all. And indeed that is the common strategy when the volatility occured.  Which is need more days or months to wait before we sell. Or decide to make a long term investment instead of short  term if you have doubts.  Cause the circumstances of market is very difficult so much better to invest in long term to avoid loses in short term.

I was one of the fools who bought in December...

December 2013.

The price had run up from $100 to over $1000 in just a couple months.

I sure felt like a bag holder as Mt Gox collapsed and took the price with it all the way down to the $200s.

Took a few years but I’ve still made 10x off those $1000 “bag-holders”. And just think about the ones I managed to scoop up in the $200s from my pit of despair as the price continued to decline in the year to follow.  Grin

Good thing I never SODL! Dollar cost averaged my way all the way down and back up again over the years. There was a period of time in there I even forgot all about my Bitcoin. Until it hit the news again.

Patience, young Jedis...

BTFD!

And come back in 2020.

If you are new investors than a hold strategy will always work for you in long run but if you will panic and sell during dumps you will loss so much. Just be patience and keep holding what you might have bought at peak price, price will recover soon to above known ATH price.

For me, I am also down by larger % in terms of USD but I am trying to keep my total BTC holding same because I am quite confident that one day price will recover.

it was a bad day indeed but not because price went down, it was a bad day because it once again proved that bitcoin investors do not understand the market at all. they care more about FUD, regulations, Korea, China, .... than they care about learning what the hell bitcoin is.

if half of these newbies investing in bitcoin started looking more into it and tried to educate themselves to understand what a censorship resistance an decentralized peer to peer digital cash means, then price would have never been this volatile with big dumps and big upswings while whales become richer and richer.

I will give you an example, last year in January many altcoins fell a lot. lisk is in the 17000 satoshi and see the price that lisk has today, then is as I said, in the world of crypto is need to have patience
^ This must be the attitude of everyone who's starting to invest in crypto. I'm fine with what's happening to the price of bitcoin now and I don't look at the current movement what I do is extending my future goals and views on where will bitcoin be. So there's no loss in long term holding.

well I have heard people saying that it didn't effect them much.
This is why being optimistic is really working.
But what about new players? I was one of the new investor months back and im still recovering lol... well anyone here wanna share your grief? anyone here in big loss?
Just don't panic and it will recover later on. For those who bought at the range of $15,000 - $19,000 we are on loss at the moment but don't look at it today.

I was not affected so much there because the majority of my holding are altcoins. Try to diversify your portfolio in future and just hold your coins, the price will rise again soon.
Diversifying your portfolio is good in case a certain coin dump you still have other coins to gain profit. Aside from investing in altcoins, the best is bitcoin as this has the big chance to bring your portfolio into big profit. Once your coin are in loss all we have to do is wait for the pump again.

I got some btc in November 2017 when it was in the $7k range. Then got some more in December when it was in the $12k range. So I made profits from the 11/2017 buys but loss profits on the 12/2017 buys.

Until now I still have not lost anything, but I had panicked because almost every second the price in the market continues to decline there has been no improvement to date. But I believe bitcoin will return to normal even will continue to increase and will be very profitable later.

Was one of the fortunate ones that is still at a big profit because of how early I joined.

Sure there was a massive dip in the market in Dec, but I wasnt affected all that much since I had diversified right before the dip.

I was not affected so much there because the majority of my holding are altcoins. Try to diversify your portfolio in future and just hold your coins, the price will rise again soon.

It was okey with me because I don't invest much in bitcoin.  what I mean is I have small amount of bitcoin but I bought that through the earnings I got from free airdrops and bounty campaigns. and we all knoe that bitcoin will rise again as there are many speculations that it will go back to its peak price again..so if you will hodl it , you can earn from.in the future.

Most of the people are now worrying who bought bitcoins at December 2017.Because now the price of bitcoin is just half from the ATM of bitcoin which just happened few weeks before. But they are not lost anything until they are holding their bitcoins.
Yes,surely bitcoin will recover and reach new all time high soon or later at this year,so hold your bitcoins until it hit your desired or goal amount.

well, I bought when the price was $17,000, I thought with so much good news we would be in the $25000 or even $30,000... but this fall caught me by surprise, I'm not looking at the losses because if I hold for long term, something like two years. then I will recover and still make a profit. investing in the crypto is need to be very calm and patience. I will give you an example, last year in January many altcoins fell a lot. lisk is in the 17000 satoshi and see the price that lisk has today, then is as I said, in the world of crypto is need to have patience

But seems all was okay for old players with big holdings didn't matter much at all,

if you hold for 5 years, then you will also be part of this "old player group"

But what about new players?

they should only hold until the price rises again and this can happen in the next months

anyone here in big loss?

I bought when the price was $17000

Yes, indeed, that December 22 was a very sad event for all owners of bitcoins. Of course it was insulting that in fact I lost a small amount, but at the same time, I did not invest any assets in the crypto currency, so December 22 did not affect me much. I hope that bitcoin can reach its former heights.

Not in big loss at the moment but that was me in the middle of last year, if you have patience and had proper selection with your coins you should be okay. Also your allocation is important too, give too much and you will be stuck. Give the right amount and you have no worries.

I can say that in a way I was affected, but not in another. I think it will have a pretty strong growth and the tokens will recover quite soon.
