or with regard to security, if their databases are leaked, it will not be very difficult for hackers who have on hand such devices which are used to calculate and force passwords to obtain private keys because to at a certain point, the keys and the account are encrypted using your password.
Well not only that, but so many users use the same small handful of passwords (or sometimes even just a single password!) across all their accounts. Given the number leaked accounts, passwords, and other credentials (https://haveibeenpwned.com alone has over 11 billion), then attackers can just start matching up blockchain.com accounts with leaked accounts belonging to the same person and start trying their passwords.

Do blockchain.com not offer cloud back up as well? (Another huge security flaw in their system.) This offers yet another potential method for wallets to be stolen, especially if your email/cloud storage account has been leaked as above.

I would caveat nc50lc's reply by saying "This is what would happen if we trust blockchain.com are truthful about not having access to private keys". We have absolutely no way to verify that blockchain.com don't have access to your coins or your private keys, or give you pre-generated seed phrases that they store on a file somewhere, or have other methods of logging in to your account, or will leak a database of passwords, and so on. We know that blockchain.com have had very significantly security flaws in their set up in the past. We also know that countless users have had funds, address, and keys simply disappear from their blockchain wallet, transactions not show up, coins not be credited, etc.,, and we know that their support is completely incompetent and useless. I wouldn't trust a single word they say, and I would not be surprised in the least if they exit scammed with everyone's coins.

I have no idea why anyone continues to use this company.

AFAIK, they link those funds to the user's KYC data. So after creating a new wallet, the "lost" custodial funds should be recovered after the user passed verification. (I'll try to find the source of this info)
Update: So apparently, I remembered this line from their support page's FAQs: Is my Trading Account backed up?
However, they included a step to restore the user's recovery phrase in the recovery guidelines.
Quote
Your Trading Account is associated with your Blockchain.com identity profile.

Anyhow, since the Trading account's funds is custodial, Blockchain is the one who'll have access to it once the user can't recover his credentials.

If a user loses access to his blockchain wallet account, for example, as a topic starter, what will happen to the funds in this account? Will the blockchain team have access to funds and can they take it for themselves? Or these funds will be lost forever.
The ones stored in their "private key wallets" will be lost forever since no one have access to the seed or the private keys.
The wallet stored in their server is encrypted so even if they wanted to, they can't spend it.

The funds in the custodial parts of the wallet is recoverable though (e.g.: Trading wallet),
that's even if he lost the walletID, password, seed phrase, etc. That's because the funds is hosted by them.
AFAIK, they link those funds to the user's KYC data. So after creating a new wallet, the "lost" custodial funds should be recovered after the user passed verification. (I'll try to find the source of this info)

So the next question is; Is it possible to find a Doge balance just by searching with the Dogechain.info wallet ID?
Same answer as I gave above. The wallet ID on its own is useless and you will not be able to find out what balance may or may not be inside that wallet without first unlocking the wallet or knowing the addresses which are contained within that wallet.

btcrecover as I linked to above will also be able to attempt to brute force dogechain.info wallets in addition to blockchain.com wallets. This is probably going to be your best bet to recover your password if you think it might be similar to other passwords you have used or have a vague idea of what it might be. If you have no idea at all, though, then your coins are probably lost unfortunately.

Thanks guys.

I will do a throughout search to see if I have stored the backup phrase somewhere.

If no luck I will give the brute force a try and see how it turns out

So I finally decided to do another effort to get back into my Blockchain wallet. Over the last couple of days I have searched through every possible corner, but no luck.
I did find a different password that I had saved in my KeePass on the same day as I open my Blockchain account. Which makes me believe that I did not save my Blockchain password at all. So the password should be something personal. I will twist my brain and see if it carry any fruit.
Its a small chance I saved it in the browser on my old phone so I will go and change the screen and see if I can find anything on there.

What I did however find was a email from Dogechain.info dated back to early 2017. It has the wallet ID and 2FA (email), BUT....wait for it..... I forgot the password  Roll Eyes
I doubt its any balance there. But I did use it now and then on a Dice site so if I left just a few bucks there that would be a x100 today.

So the next question is; Is it possible to find a Doge balance just by searching with the Dogechain.info wallet ID?

I know walletrecoveryservic team working fine with a good rate of success. For that reason, I have forwarded a few victims those have lost password of blockchain wallet to them. But unfortunately, it wasn't possible to recover the funds by brute force. I think it was happening due to a lack of guess-best password combination. If victims can't provide at least a part of the original password then it's quite impossible to recover wallet by brute force. So still the best option is to search for the password in possible places or try to with best guesses.

It's true that the chances are extremely low if op doesn't have any clue of what the password may be, but A LOT of ppl are still using common/weak passwords and op could be one of them, you never know that's why you gotta try.

If there's a best option in this case, that would be to exhaust every means there is.

Before hiring any other services to recover your password you should make sure if it's actually worth it. BlockChain doesn't support many coins they added PolkaDot recently so that is out of equation for the coin you'd have. You can check all the coins they support and see if any of them click that it could be your coin. Once you figure that out you can check what is the current rate of that coin to get a better idea if it's worth hiring someone to brute force it (which is nearly impossible anyway).

Maybe not for average individual peeps but the guy from wallet recovery services has helped a lot! (see: ANN | Website). The latter has a powerful cpu/gpu, expertise and patience which makes quite a difference. But then again, there's a chance it could work with the readily available tools so the community has been advising to try that first and if it succeeds, they get to pay 0

@OP have you managed to recover your wallet? If not then it will be too implicated to recover your blockchain wallet without remembering your password. I have been seeing many similar threads on the forum where people asking to recover blockchain wallets. But I can't see anyone succeed with bruit-force. So the best try would be to remember your password and try it.
The opportunity depends on how easy it is to guess the password, its length and the type of letters/symbols used.
I have an old account  and the last time I tried to access it using the correct password, it was wrong, so maybe even if you guessed a correct password, you might not be able to access your account.
Trying to bruit-force it yourself may end up wasting some money without being able to access your coins.
Do not trust Blockchain.com wallet and always keep your 12 words or use another platform.

I'd say multi-task the methods mentioned @op

That's why it's pretty important to write all the passwords in a notebook

or use a password manager that you can store locally and encrypts your passwords like https://keepass.info/

If no luck I will give the brute force a try and see how it turns out
If you don't remember the password correctly the last option could be this brute force process of recovering your blockchain wallet, just follow the Youtube video given above, and might you will succeed if it is correctly followed.  As long as you have your email account there will be a chance.

I tend to agree above that keep try guessing your password if you are not generating a password from a password generator, it might have a chance that you will guess it through the most common password that you've used.

Once you've successfully recovered your fund there, quickly transfer on the non-custodial wallet just like Electrum which is very common but you have control over your key.

Do you remember if when you created your wallet from Blockchain?

It must have a 12-word seed phrase you might be saved it to notepad anywhere on your PC. Try to search it on your laptop with keywords like seed, secret, or recovery phrase and maybe you can find it.
You can use that seed phrase to recover your wallet and you can able to access your wallet again to check if you have a balance. If you only have a wallet ID then you can't able to check your wallet balance unless if you have access to this wallet that is why they're suggesting to brute-force your wallet.

Did you want to know your wallet balance or want to recover back your wallet? The best is to recover back your wallet, then you will know your balance. To recover back your wallet:

1. You can follow SquirrelJulietGarden post by making use of btcrecover to brute-force the passwords.

2. Alternatively, which is the best method. You can get you seed phrase, export it to another noncustodial wallet like electrum or blockchain.com wallet itself, and you will be able to recover back your wallet as easy. The best backup you can have is to have your seed phrase which can make wallet recovery very easy.

If you have you wallet ID and have access to the email that was used to register that wallet
If the wallet owner do not have the wallet ID, he can use wallet ID reminder to recover back the wallet ID through email. If not getting wallet ID recovery email message, the person can contact the blockchain.com customer support for wallet look up through this link.

No, there is no way to check the balance just from the wallet ID. You will either need to be able to find the address so you can look it up on a block explorer, or brute force the password. If you are going down the brute force route, be sure to use the forked version of btcrecover which is still maintained at https://github.com/3rdIteration/btcrecover. The original hasn't been updated in three years.

That service is given by DaveF who is a trusted member in this forum.
I'm pretty certain that Dave from Wallet Recovery Services and DaveF are not the same person.

Do you know where the funds were sent from? You could try looking to see if you can find the address your coins are at now and search them up on an explorer like blockchair.com.

If you have you wallet ID and have access to the email that was used to register that wallet, you can brute force your wallet password. In order to mak the brute force process faster and easier, you need to give the computer some characters that you think or remember they are parts of your wallet password.

https://youtu.be/rMtW8vIHHek

If you can not brute force it, you can use trusted wallet recovery services such as https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-wallet-recovery-services-for-forgotten-wallet-password-240779. That service is given by DaveF who is a trusted member in this forum.

I have a Blockchain wallet where I lost the password.

Its 50/50 that I just forgot it (meaning I might be able to recover if spending enough time searching through my laptop), but it also possible that I logged in via a phishing email (remember pressing a link and logging in one time after receiving a suspect email from "them")

Anyway I had like $100 worth of coins stuck there so I never bother doing much about it. But since that is almost 2 years ago now that $100 should be worth a lot more (dont remember which coin I had).

I have the wallet ID.
Is there any way I can find out the balance of my wallet just by the wallet ID?
