not sure i you have corrupted wallets but if all else fails try RecoverMyFiles v5.

i recently recovered 4 wallet.dat files that were totally unreadable for almost 2 weeks.

before 'RMFv5' i went through 4-5 recovery programs that were basically pointless & hella time-consuming.

best of luck!!

Do you mean the software here?

Thanks for passing on your time spent research. I will try this in about 4 days when I'm back home again.

Also, try the same -rescan trick, but with -reindex instead of -rescan

Tried this but it just generated yet another new wallet address with nothing in it. I will try the file recovery thing later.

Try the same trick with -rescan instead of -repairwallet

- rescan also failed but now I have jumbled up files too. I also seem to generate new wallet addresses with nothing in them.

If nothing else works for you try this for your coin's qt instead of bitcoin-qt

Assuming you mean WINDOWS 7 you:
1) Create a shortcut for bitcoin-qt on your desktop.
2) Right-click the shortcut and select properties.
3) In the field labeled Target type -repairwallet on the end.

P.S. default is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe" so the target field would end up looking like
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe" -repairwallet

I now have a brand new wallet address that never existed before still with no coins.

The blockchain is not synced. To see your most recent balance, you need to be sync to the latest block. This process may take sometime as your client is 17 hours behind the latest network block. After you see a tick at the bottom right, you should see all your balances.

I tried re-syncing the wallet before. The balance didn't appear as the two addresses of the empty wallets are the only ones that appear.
