Can not be said of the crime and the legal basis,
Errors remain on the sender and can not be brought legal path,
Just the honesty of the addressee who can refund your money,

You need to pay that ETH back to the rightful owners immediately or face criminal proceedings henceforth. What you've done amounts to theft. The exchange has all your details about you and will have logged your crime on their system so don't be surprised when the law enforcement authorities feel your collar.

Let me add my viewpoint here. Legally speaking, Coinbase can only request you to refund what you had withdrawn back to its rightful owner since you admitted here that it is not really your own. Right now, it is not yet clear what are the regulations on this case but Coinbase can do something about your account. I assumed it has no more funds. They can close it and block you from accessing their service again in the future.

Are you an American citizen? If you are not, then the more that Coinbase could not do anything legally against you. What probably happen here is that somebody made a mistake of sending his/her Eth to you and the account owner requested Coinbase for help.

And that brings me to my second point. In all honesty, since it is not yours you should have waited for a while before doing anything about the fund and since there is already a request to get it back then it is all up to you to do anything about it. You can be honest and return the Eth or you can choose otherwise...the ball is always on your hands (and mouse I guess).

what is law in this case ? can i go to a attorney for advice ?

It is not like your ETH was stolen and you want to go to the attorney. Someone mistakenly sent ETH to your account and you want to keep it by seeking an attorney's advice. I guess it would be a substantial amount. Your name suggests that you are from India, if you had submitted your documents to Coinbase I would suggest refunding the amount, even if you didn't have, I would suggest the same especially if it is a big amount. Rest is your choice.

Basic human decency means you would have alerted coinbase about it. But then I guess we know where you stand with basic human decency:)

I read about miners being nice to return accidental fees. Maybe coinbase users can be as nice?

And then what? Will do a legal action? How much amount is involved and you will do a hassle way?

If you are not a verified user then up to you if you will run sicne they can't traced you. But remember, even it was by accident it will now be illegal and form of stealing. Are you fine with that? You got the money easily and that is a shit. Since Coinbase asked you to repay then really it's a mistake and it's not yours. Can you lived from the money came from illegal activity? Money can earned anytime mate. You don't need to make a shortcut to have it.

I don't think that there's specific legislation covering this. Coinbase would probably have trouble proving sole ownership of those funds even if they ended in your account through error, but they'd surely notice sooner or later if you are now holding a big amount.

Hi Everyone
I need some expert advice on this issue.
Yesterday I some unkown ETH came into my coinbase account. I withdraw them now coinbase is say I need to repay them?
what should I do about this please suggest ??

If those ETH are not yours then you are obliged to repay them since those coins arent your possesion but this would still depend on your conscience because a part of ourself for sure says that we should not return those coins because those are money already but on the good side it will tell us to return it. Its all your decision if you would repay them or not,if you choose not to repay then be sure you didnt give any details about yourself.

well you know its not yours so you need to repay it if you still wants to continue your wallet / service with coinbase since they are asking for you to repay the eth but if not you can leave it there and forget about your wallet, that's the problem even by mistake we should not use balance or coins that's not belong to us.

Coinbase's can't force you to repay, crypto transactions are irreversible. But it we're talking about big amounts be careful is Coinbase's has your personal info.
