I don't know any other uses of that page aside from what's written there because I've tried a 24-word 2FA seed phrase from v2.0 when trusted coin's service was introduced (release notes) and I'm able to restore it to the latest version without issues.
Same master keys and addresses.

Well, I don't know either but for me the 2FA wallet that I created before works without using that tool when importing it on the latest Electrum.

But base on what I research some people experienced the same thing as nic3guy like this man here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.56382030
And solved his case by using the trustedcoin recovery tool.

There might be the reason why they get a unique seed that doesn't work when trying to recover it directly on Electrum. I just can't find it on Electrum documentation or even in trustedcoin.

Since you have your backup phrase, you should be ok. Do the following:

1. Open Electrum and select to create a new wallet.
2. Select "Wallet with two-factor authentication" -> I already have a seed -> Paste your backup seed and click next.
3. In the next step, select "Disable" to turn off 2FA from your wallet.
4. Now you should be able to spend your coins without any 2FA code.

Hi guys,

I have a similar problem, i have the 12 words to restore my wallet but when i do my funds are not there and on my original wallet i cant transfer them because of google authentication.

when i try to follow the 4 steps above if i create a new wallet simple it works, if i chose the two-factor authentication the 12 words does not allow me to restore the wallet ?

thanks for the help.

then the seed you have is not for a 2fa wallet. either find the correct seed or contact trusted coin and hope they will reset 2fa for you.

If your Electrum was created years ago and you can't able to import the seed on Electrum under 2FA there is another way to recover your wallet if the above suggestion doesn't work.

- Download this page https://trustedcoin.com/static/recover/standalone.html

Try this one below.

- Download this page https://trustedcoin.com/static/recover/standalone.html
- And disconnect your PC/laptop from the internet.
- Now paste the seed backup
- It will generate a new wallet file but without a password(unencrypted wallet).

Now, the file that you generated from trustedcoin recovery you can import the wallet file in Electrum and it should show the right wallet you are looking for.

You mean the "Next" button isn't clickable? What it says in the "Seed Type:" when you paste the 12-word phrase?
Note: If you paste a "standard seed" while chosen the option "Wallet with two-factor authentication->I already have a seed", it will not allow you to click 'Next'.

I have a similar problem, i have the 12 words to restore my wallet but when i do my funds are not there and on my original wallet i cant transfer them because of google authentication.
And this supports that it may not be an Electrum 2FA seed phrase, may be for Standard or SegWit Electrum wallet.

Which is it? Your 12 words restore a wallet without any funds in it, or the 12 words do not restore a wallet at all?

If your 12 words are restoring a wallet with different addresses and no funds on it, then you have the wrong 12 words. You either need to find the correct 12 words, or contact TrustedCoin and ask them nicely to remove the 2FA on your account. They have done this for some users in the past, but only if you can email them from the email address you used when you first set up your 2FA wallet.

You replied to the wrong thread Cheesy
Here's the link to your previous topic, it was moved to "wallet software" childboard: Wallet Help.

I've already replied to these questions there.

Your seed are the 12 words you saw when you created your wallet. Those are not private keys. Your private keys are derived from your seed (the 12 words). Give us some more info on what you are trying to do exactly? Are you creating a new wallet, restoring an existing wallet...?

Generally, you should not bump old threads and instead create a new thread describing your problem. This thread was last posted in back in 2017.

You can restore from seed via file menu > new/restore. Enter a file name for the new wallet file and follow on-screen instructions for the rest.

I think your problem is already done base on what you posted here .. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.22745074
Just take note that better to get better copy of your seeds because this is the only thing that you can recover your wallet ..
And hope everything in your wallet are working right now in other PC. and for your old PC better to try removed all electrum wallet in your pc using iobit uninstaller its free so that the registry will also removed so that your pc is clean again and you can reinstall electrum and try recover your wallet again and follow the procedure above..  and should be work again just like before ..
