Well,

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1x804j/yep_i_did_it_officially/

I posted it here and I am so disappointed in myself for letting this happen. $900 pays off my Credit Card & I let it down by a silly .dat file that just did not save when it was supposed to.

Ruined my day.

That's why people save multiple copy and make sure the backup works before formatting.

I really feel sorry. Just let it go even if BTC will reach new high's. At least buy 1 more coin so in 5-10 years you won't regret missing the train because of a glitch.

Damn that really sucks dude.  Just like someone mentioned, at least its not a bigger amount.. but $900 is still a lot of money.

You just got to let that be a lesson. Better a 900 dollar lesson than a 10,000 dollar one!

Sorry to hear your loss...  Sad
Maybe you should make multiple encrypted backups (one at external HDD, one at dropbox, etc)...

I'm not sure if Dropbox is the best idea, though I'd definitely go with external HDD. Even USB sticks you can hide.

I wouldn't feel safe having it uploaded somewhere, but I recommend backing up on several different mediums including USBs and CDs etc.

not money pay for my mother hospital  Cry
more bad situation my life

Definitely sorry to hear Sad

Losing any bitcoin isn't good, disregard any values as people like to put on them. Though, we are all each in different situations, it is a shame that there are not any recourse actions to recover them other than recovery programs that tend to fail, as in my own case.

Grr!

Sure, it's lots of money, but you should still be happy you aren't the guy who lost his bitcoins worth millions of dollars. :/
