The wallet I used.

hm, that's an altcoin... It might be best if you would close the topic, and re-ask your question in the vertcoin ann thread, that way the vertcoin dev's could help you out.

After googeling for a bit, i don't think vertcoin core is HD, this means that i don't think it's a deterministic wallet, so i don't know what you have saved, but i doubt it's a seed...
I can be wrong tough, that's why it might be wise to re-ask your question in the vertcoin ann thread.

Using recuva on your old harddisk is still a good thing to try, wether i'm wrong about the fact that the wallet is not deterministic or not... But please do understand that the more you use the harddisk, the smaller the chance recuva will be able to recover your wallet.dat!

Just a last couple of questsion about your seed:
- when were you shown the seed? During the first wallet installation, or did you have to take extra steps?
- how many words does the seed consist of?
- if it's just one word, what's the seed's lenght, and which letter does it start with? (tip: if it's one word, it's not a seed)

I did a clean installation. But i have a seed and Private key.

If you have the seed, then you simply restore the wallet using the seed. You don't need the wallet.dat.

I don't know what you mean by "private key". You probably don't have a "private key". I suspect that you intended to write "password".

Is there an article on how to do this? Or video?

It all depends which wallet you used, but usually after reinstalation wallet asks you if you have SEED. First try to install wallet one more time and there at the beginning should be question abot SEED. If there will not be that question - give us wallet name.

Which wallet did you use? There are dozens of different wallets, each have their own wizards...

First of all: stop using your pc... Shut it down, turn it off... revisit the forum using a different pc or a mobile device.
Second step: clone your disk... boot from a linux usb and use gnome-diskutils or dd
Thirth step: use a recovery tool to scan your disk, and hope it can recover your wallet.dat.

Other than that, odolvlobo is right: if you don't have a backup of either your wallet.dat or the seed, you've lost your BTC...

Thank you for the information. Is there a disk recovery program you can recommend?
I am using an SSD disk.

I've used recuva when recovering a disk with my previous job... It did the trick.

Use your backup copy, or the seed.

No backup copy or seed? Sorry.

Haven't backup copy but i have a seed.

In that case you can just use your seed to restore your wallet... You'll lose any labels attached to your history, but that's about it...
I'd still suggest to turn off your computer and use a second (clean) device to restore your wallet, just in case the seed is wrong and you need to scan your HD for the wallet file.
