Now whenever I try to create a new wallet, on mobile it doesn't have the option to input numbers at all, and on PC when I do, it doesn't let me continue as the "Next" option is greyed out. Please help me out with this as I need what is inside urgently. Thanks a lot
The "seed" (12 words) and the "extension word" (3 numbers in your case) have to be entered separately.

On Android, you have to check the "Extend Seed" box, enter the seed, tap "Next" then you can enter the passphrase/extension word.
=> there is no numpad when you are asked to enter the seed.

On desktop, practically the same thing. Enter the "seed" click "Options" -> check "Extend this seed with custom words"-> "Next", then enter the extension word.
=> when you enter anything other than the seed on the first field, the "Next" button will become unclickable.

The passphrase is either 1) the password used to decrypt the wallet file or 2) the password used to decrypt the seed which is commonly referred to as "extended seed".
In 1) it is simply a password.
In 2) it is a salt used in the key derivation function (BIP 39)

The seed on the other hand is a large random number used to derive everything. This is a common (and wrong) synonym for the mnemonic code.
The mnemonic code is the sequence of words (most commonly 12 or 24).
Thanks bud.

So in OP's case I assume he has the seed which is a good news but I assume his seed is the word phrase which is without the small combination of 3 letters.

When I was creating the seed I made it an extended one and I put a small combination of 3 numbers at the end of it

If he means passphrase for encrypted password then there are no need of it but if that is his extended seed (includes the small combination of 3 letters) then he is looking at the regular seed (without the three letter at the end) and extended seed to recover the wallet.

@backforth55, if you are reading then let us know you are reading okay.

I did not see this post while I was editing my last post :-D

Anyway, I think the problem here is either:
OP has entered wrong seed
or
His seed are not Electrum seed.

I am not much clear about this too:

So I have lost the passphrase to my wallet, but I have the seed.

What is he meaning by passphrase and seed. Passphrase and seed are same thing in my knowledge or it's me when I call any of them I actually mean the 12/24 word seeds. It could be extended seed or regular seed.

Edit:

Help me to understand that I am close to imagine what you have done when you created the wallet.

When I was creating the seed I made it an extended one and I put a small combination of 3 numbers at the end of it.
When you created the wallet you added this small combination of 3 numbers at the end and you had it in the extended seed box?

Do you have the seed plus the seed with the small combination of 3 numbers? I hope you have.
Without the small combination of the 3 numbers is your regular seed.
With the small combination of the 3 numbers are your extended seed.

Can you try it now?
I remember when I used Electrum first time, I had the same mistake but somehow I was able to figure it out when I was restoring my wallet.

Which wallet software you have used?

We're in the electrum subforum. So i think it's relatively safe to assume the OP used electrum to create a new seed, then used the options => extend seed checkbox to extend his seed, then encrypted his wallet with a password...

In this case, Rath_ is correct: he can restore his wallet by using electrum, restore from seed, options => extend.

btw: my screenshot, but a freshly, unused seed  Tongue

If the OP has the seed and the passphrase he used to extend said seed, he can restore his wallet with electrum (the password to encrypt the wallet is not needed).

So, to recap he needs one of these 2 combinations:
  • the seed phrase + the words used to extend his seed
  • the encrypted wallet + the password to encrypt the wallet

words to extend the seed =/= password to encrypt the wallet (eventough nothing is stopping you from re-using the word to extend the seed as a password to encrypt the wallet, but that would be bad opsec)

Which wallet software you have used? Assuming Electrum.

Start with the desktop version. It will be easier for you to operate.

on PC when I do, it doesn't let me continue as the "Next" option is greyed out.
Are you talking about this step?

In this case this is not an electrum seed or you have a wrong seed unfortunately.

Now whenever I try to create a new wallet, on mobile it doesn't have the option to input numbers at all [...]

There is a little gear icon right next to the "Enter your seed phrase". There is an "Extend Seed" option there.

[...] and on PC when I do, it doesn't let me continue as the "Next" option is greyed out.

Did you select "Options -> Extend this seed with custom words" under the field where you enter your recovery phrase? You have to select that option, enter your seed, press "Next" and then enter your passphrase.

So I have lost the passphrase to my wallet, but I have the seed. I have seen many articles that say to just make a new wallet with the seed, however this doesn't work. When I was creating the seed I made it an extended one and I put a small combination of 3 numbers at the end of it. Now whenever I try to create a new wallet, on mobile it doesn't have the option to input numbers at all, and on PC when I do, it doesn't let me continue as the "Next" option is greyed out. Please help me out with this as I need what is inside urgently. Thanks a lot
