What I do is, GPG (TWOFISH) encrypt my seed with a strong password and give it to literally everyone.
Once I need it, I ask them for it and decrypt it.
As there's no public/private key hassle, you can decrypt the password anywhere you want and can retrieve the coins.
(Smart isn't it?)

Yea and when TWOFISH gets cracked or a huge vulnerability gets discovered, your coins will be gone in an instant.

Doing this is an impending doom on your coins. Better keep it offline.

I think this is a bad option for who run such wallet....
You can risk too much... it's easy loss such data or I am wrong something?!

Perhaps I use only multibit classic wallet (probably because it was my first wallet Smiley )

Nonsense, how hard it is to write down the seed to a fucking piece of paper?

If you cant remember it, then write it down. If you do neither, then dont be surprized if you lose all your money.

You can loss such piece of paper or not? Or maybe it could be damaged or even stolen burned so on....

It's more easy save priv key with a strong password...  you can make every copy you want, and nobody could use it.

I understand your view point, but I prefer this way to save my btc.

Asking about a "wallet.dat" file - which is obviously not an Electrum wallet file - but a Bitcoin-core wallet type file.

Disregard and close this thread.

Maybe he is just confused, he must be really stressed that he lost his bitcoins.

But the answer is no, unless he has the password or seed anywhere, the bitcoins are lost forever.

Don't know about btcrecover or any such services and don't recommend using those either.

But without the password you can't decrypt an encrypted wallet and without the seed you cannot restore the wallet. These are all security measures to control the theft of coins.
