Am I correct is saying that this is a race against time? If the transaction is in limbo, does it disappear after three days (today, gulp..)?
Their estimated pending time can go up to 14 days according to their Terms of Service: localbitcoins.com/terms_of_service
Means that the transaction isn't actually sent to the Bitcoin network at all, it's more of a withdrawal request to Localbitcoins for now.

Your transaction will only appear in Electrum once they broadcasted it.

I did not put the "requested amount" into Electrum when creating the address.
Is this my error? Can I do aything about it please?
As already said, the address in question has not received any bitcoin.
The only thing you can do now is to contact their support.

I just want to add that you don't have to enter the amount when creating a request on electrum and you shouldn't worry about that.
You receive the fund even if you leave the amount empty or enter a wrong amount.

I'm *guessing* that there are more people in this thread then are still working on the LBC shutdown. So it might just been they are taking care of one thing at a time in the order that it came in. And processing withdraws in the same way. Everything gets a set of eyes on it before it's processed since they have not been working on the site keeping it updated, there might be security things that have to be done by hand.

There have been other exchanges that when they shut moved to all manual processing for withdrawal requests that took a very long time to get done.
Since they did just not run in the middle of the night it's probably just a waiting game.

Not really, no. I wouldn't say so because they didn't process the transaction to start with. But you are in a race against time for sure, because the deadline either passed or will be soon as I have mentioned above: https://localbitcoins.com/service_closure/

Thank you.

I have found their onine helpdesk and am writing to them now.

(They first contact me six months ago to withdraw my finds due to UK banking regs changing, and again recently. They seem bona fide to me.)

Does this provide any clues please and can you recommend anything?

Thanks

When did they send you an email saying you should withdraw? was it also on Saturday?

The transaction details show that it's "pending" so it's possible they haven't processed it yet, and you should wait until they do. I suggest you try and reach out to them to accelerate things.

HI,

My transaction is
  bc1q3npdpvagw89w7ajq9qlva5k5sn6lamrewaqk4vxtstt9mvtkjfaqkjsmyv

web address was
https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/wallet/

Not sure what a TXID is but I can't see one.

Thanks
TXID = transaction ID

That address definitely hasn't received any transactions as you can see here:

https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/addresses/btc/bc1q3npdpvagw89w7ajq9qlva5k5sn6lamrewaqk4vxtstt9mvtkjfaqkjsmyv

So there is nothing wrong with your Electrum. Localbitcoins never sent the funds to start with.

So there is nothing wrong with your Electrum. Localbitcoins never sent the funds to start with.

Now, according to Localbitcoins:

We encourage all customers to withdraw their funds from LocalBitcoins and we ask you to proceed with withdrawing the Bitcoins from your LocalBitcoins wallet. You have 12 months to withdraw, however of course we encourage you to proceed withdrawing sooner.

Thank you for being a part of the LocalBitcoins family! It has been our honor and pleasure to serve you over the last decade.

Timeline for discontinuing the Bitcoin trading service:
2023-02-09 Suspension of new sign ups
2023-02-16
Suspension of trading on LocalBitcoins
Suspension of using LocalBitcoins wallet (with exception of withdrawing one's funds)
After 2023-02-17 LocalBitcoins customers will only be able to log-in to withdraw their Bitcoins. The trading and Wallet services will no longer be available at this point.
We thank you for choosing LocalBitcoins for all these years and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

It's difficult to say whether the 12-month period starts from the 17th of February (meaning you still have time) or when they first wrong that message.

Localbitcoins has stopped operations since many months ago if not more than 2 years now. Hope this is not fake Localbitcoins? Can you paste the URL of the Localbitcoins here for us to know if it is fake or not.

Even if it is the original site, why left your coins on a centralized exchange for so long.

I'm guessing that Localbitcoins still allows withdrawals?

If the funds left the account as they're claiming, they should've provided you with a TXID.

You could also post your receiving address, so we can check if you actually received the funds, and this is just a display issue from Electrum or something else.

Hi

I created a request on Electrum wallet and created an address.

I used the address to send bitcoin to it from localbitcoins.

Localbitcoins shows the transaction as "pending" and having left that account.

Electrum showing nothing . Just says "unpaid"

The address is correct.

Suspected cause:

I did not put the "requested amount" into Electrum when creating the address.

Is this my error? Can I do aything about it please?

This was two days ago - my research suggests  I am in a race against time?

Any help much appreaciated.

Thanks
