That's a bummer that it doesn't work on iOS with 18 words... thanks for the headsup (I have edited my earlier post for anyone stumbling across this thread in the future).

I was honestly expecting it to say the same thing when I tried it on Android, but it worked perfectly with 18 words...

That's weird. I would have expected exactly the same functionality on both an iPhone and android. What happens if you create an 18 seed word wallet on android, then try to recover it on an iPhone? If my android phone broke I would expect to be able to chose an iPhone replacement and use the same 18 word bread wallet seed in it.

Looks like your transaction got confirmed! YAY!

Breadwallet works with MultiBit HD seeds (tested with 12 and 18 word seeds)...
Yes thanks to ViaBTC accelerator, they got it confirmed in 30 minutes

Breadwallet won't work with 18 word on iOS it says seed should be 12 word

I read the reviews... and most of them seemed to be blaming the app for slow confirmation times... pretty much like the reviews for all wallet software. Roll Eyes

Most people don't understand the way Bitcoin really works and get all pissy at their wallet software for their transactions not being confirmed.

I haven't given the wallet a super thorough test, but it offers 2 options for fees...

The top option seems to be "dynamic" and is currently ~289 sats/byte so should be "OK"... I'm guessing all the idiots whining are using the 0.0001 fee per kB option... which is like 10 sats/byte Tongue

...f you have an older Android device "Simple Bitcoin Wallet" also supports MultiBit HD seeds (tested with 12 and 18 word seeds).

That's great news. You are the first person I read of who found a wallet capable of importing multibit seeds that runs on older android phones. That will help a lot of people struggling with the multibit HD bug. Thanks for putting the time into testing it.

edit

Its latest reviews aren't very good. Have you thoroughly tested it out?

Looks like your transaction got confirmed! YAY!

For future reference, if you have an iOS or newer Android device, Breadwallet works with MultiBit HD seeds (tested with 12 on iOS/Android and 18 word seeds on Android)... If you have an older Android device "Simple Bitcoin Wallet" also supports MultiBit HD seeds (tested with 12 and 18 word seeds).

So you can simply restore/recover your wallet with one of those apps if necessary.

Also, it seems like MultiBit HD will keep rebroadcasting transactions and doesn't seem to offer a way to abandon a transaction. So if you want the transaction to drop, you will need to shutdown MultiBit HD and don't open it for a while. For added fun, it would appear that due to the massive number of transactions in the mempool these days, some nodes are waiting much longer than the old "72 hours"... I saw Lauda mention that it could take up to 14 days for transactions to drop Shocked

Hello guys, heres my problem -
I sent some btc from my wallet (the client I used was MultiBit HD for mac, latest version I think; it's my only wallet that was created using the same client in like early 2016) a week ago on 15th of may and I've also messed up the fee so it's too low.
https://blockchain.info/tx-index/6ffce45d69351a4e7b6556eb60f96f6a0792c079b4b95b7bb19cf15df31933da
On 19th of may I checked transaction status - blockchain.info said "Transaction was rejected by our node", so I used "repair wallet" option and after that my transaction was rebroadcasted to the network again, with the same fee. It appeared on blockchain.info again with the same transaction id but with different date.
I thought if transaction gets rejected then btc should return to my wallet
I tried to "repair wallet" and restore it from seed so many times but it seems only MultiBit HD (not even classic version) restores it (maybe it's because of 18 word seed not 12) and when its done synchronizing this transaction appears in "Payments" section BUT it shows that I'm receiving 0.00003535 btc

So in the end I can't use anything but MultiBit and it doesn't have options to cancel all transactions from sending (or at least I don't know about them or how to use them), also it won't let to double spend because balance doesn't show the money.

What is the best option for me guys? I don't know any miners that would confirm it for me.
Should I just wait for transaction to get rejected and do not use this wallet during this time at all? Or if I wait doing nothing the transaction will be rebroadcasting every time? After all, maybe it is possible to make a double-spend from MultiBit HD?
