For all secure backups do the following:

Backup data on 2 different kinds of media--i.e CD and Flash, Hard Drive and Tape, Hard Drive and USB Flash, etc.

Backup data using at least 3 copies--i.e. one working copy on your computer, one on flash drive immediately accessible, one in safe deposit box or at friends house in another city, etc.

Good Luck!

paper wallets are in general a good idea .. because paper lasts longer than disks and specially usb drives .. they can last up too a couple of 100 years ... (except fire) while CD and SDs loos there data within 15 years

sounds pretty safe aslong as you trust your friends XD but alsong as you encrypt and password things and back them up atleast twice youll be fine i personaly do something a bit similar i use a virtual computer store all the files on an external harddrive and only plug it in when its needed, i also have 2 backups of the wallet also password protected 1 on a CD and another on a USB drive

Hi,

-I actually wanted to post this in the alt currency sub, but somehow wasn't allowed to.-

I recently bought some LTC and I'd like them to be safely stored for about a month.
Am I safe enough when I install Ubuntu live CD on a USB drive, install litecoin wallet, store the drive in a safe-deposit and keep a few backups on a CD (in a friend's house and girlfriend's house)?. Or am I missing something here (maybe a paper wallet in case every USB and CD gets corrupted).

Thanks in advance Smiley
