Performing a DDoS against some of the largest pools in a network and THEN performing a 51% attack it kind of a brilliant idea, no?

I'm not really sure, but it would appear to be a simple DDoS against the pools and nothing outrageous like a 51% attack.

I guess, essentially, both would have similar implications though.  I'm not entirely sure what happens in either case!

It wouldn't seem to be affecting the value of LTC at btc-e.com, but time is money for a miner.

Possibly unrelated, but Litecoinpool.org is down as of 10:23 EST.

From burnside's post in his thread, it didn't seem like he suspected foul-play. Sounded like more of a hardware issue.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Burnside is down
Notroll is down
BTC-E has been experiencing DDoS's

Is this the attempts of another crypto coin group to discredit LTC?

Or is this an attack by a bot group hoping to cause a crash in the prices as they missed the gravy train last week?

Thoughts on a postcard please.

P.S This maybe better in the Alt Currencies thread but I'm a noob =P
